Bowling Excuses

 Posted this on another site as well..


Just a fun topic. I know there are many, many excuses for a bad night of bowling, what is yours? I'll start:

I just can't get out of the ball clean!
I should have changed balls sooner!
They don't know how to oil the lanes here!
The pins must be off spot!
Should have had another beer!

I can go on and on, let's here some others.

Anyone that replies to this post should be an honorary member of the FIBJAM club. All I ever do is complain. 
 
Some of my faves that I use.
 
"Should have thrown it worse."
"Does everyone else really need THIS much lane help?"
"Dang humidity"
 
Best I've heard.
 
"Lane is tilted."
"I should have used the ball that rolls early then flips hard."
"The mechanic hates me."
"I ripped the rack and left a solid 8-10."

Many, many years ago, I was bowling in the Indiana State Tournament in Anderson.  The guy next to us shot at a spare and missed it badly.  He came back off the aprroach and compained to his teamates that a box elder bug had flown into his eye.  Honest.  I could not make this up.

 For years bowling with my dad when ever I was having a bad game he said I had to much "loft." This never made any sense to me being that I virtually have no loft.  After hearing this for several years I finally asked him what the hell are you talking about, I don't loft the ball?! He started laughing and said, LOFT it stands for Lack Of F*! cking Talent ! Still makes me laugh.

Haha! My dad tells me the same thing! I got a good kick out of it when I finally asked what it meant as well.

I don't bowl as much as I should.  So my excuse is I only bowl about 3 games a month!  267,242,279   I really should bowl more because it is bad when my students ask me if I bowl and I tell them no.
