Finish:  1500 Polish
Hardness:  75-77
RG:  Low (2.51")
Flare:  Ex. High (.078" differential)  6-9" flare
This ball was approved before the latest rule changes and is much higher than the new USBC limits of .060"

Avail. Wts:  13-16# (AMB - IMMORTAL core)
10-12# (on request - light wt. core)
Lane Conditions:  Medium
Color:  Black Pearl
Coverstock:  Reactive Pearl

..The AMB-IMMORTAL is the latest adaptation of our highly successful Anti-Mass Bias core design. Unlike other balls which use dense materials to create a mass bias, the AMB design utilizes an extremely light cap opposite the desired mass bias location. This AMB flip cap creates a negative mass bias on the side with the cap and also creates a positive mass bias at the desired location. This allows the bowler to drill the ball in just about any possible manner, without affecting the core shape or dynamics.

Although the AMB-IMMORTAL Pearl uses the same shape core as the Centaur-AMB line that''s where the similarities end.

The AMB-IMMORTAL core has a heavy cap added to the bottom of the core.  This allows the density of the top cap to be increased significantly.  The result is a core that produces an extreme flare potential with it''s 0.078" differential (This ball was grandfathered in before the USBC changes and is currently higher than any new ball can be produced - BUT it is legal for use in all USBC competition because of when it was approved).

To Layout the AMB-IMMORTAL  properly, you must first mark the "Virtual Mass Bias" by drawing a line from the 1/4" locator pin on the backside, through the 1/2" white flip pin around the ball. Mark an "x"180 degrees from the AMB pin (13 1/2" from the AMB pin which puts the "x" 6 3/4" from the black pin. This Virtual Mass Bias point can then be treated using the same general rules that apply to other typical mass bias spots.

*** By using the AMB cap to create an Anti-Mass Bias (negative mass bias on the back side) it allows the ball to have a lower RG than the original DC core while maintaining a high differential. It also helps maintain more of the core dynamics for most drillings. In the case with most strong Mass bias balls, when drilling the thumb - you remove a large portion of the heavy core or cap used to create the bias, resulting in less of the core''s original dynamics. BUT, with the AMB core, you drill into lighter coverstock and save almost all of the original core shape - retaining the true reaction originally designed by the core.

I chose a 5" stacked layout with the VMB located about an inch to the right of my thumb stacked directly in line with the pin.  The reason I chose this layout was to fill a gap I was having between my G-3 (drilled 5 1/2 stacked) and my Green Gargoyle (drilled 4 1/2 stacked).

My thought was the Immortal would give me the clean push through the front as with the other two balls, but a stronger movement at the breakpoint than my Green Gargoyle.

I've drilled up 3 others for various bowlers and for the most part, ball speed vs rev rate will need to be taken into consideration when preparing the coverstock.  Most low speed, low rev players will like the out-of-box finish, but majority of them i believe will need to have the coverstock slightly touch with a scotch brite to produce the preferred roll and reaction.

UPDATE - As it was, the cover out-of-the box generated the same length down the lane as my G-3 and thus produced the same type of results I was trying to get away from; lot of length and late break point.  I recently took a 1000 Abralon and then hit it with the Storm 1500-2500 Compound (I think #3) and the cover seems to be perfect now.  Not as shiny as OOB and not as dull as a grey scotch.

I'm looking forward to the release of the SOLID in the near future.  I plan to use this ball quite frequently as it is great on fresh house shots....but be cautious when the lanes start to transition as this ball will show it's strength off the increasing dry track and breakpoint area.

The AMB-IMMORTAL is the latest adaptation of our highly successful Anti-Mass Bias core design. Unlike other balls

Visionary got the right one baby
The new core, keeps pins stay extremely low and hits like a truck!!! The one I tested was drilled . I was able to play the middle of the lane with an extreme break point or more right towards the gutter with a hand change. no matter where I played this ball carried the 10 pin like no other  thrown. I would like to  this core and weight block combination

Creates an large scale window for missed-release
If you are a stroker or tweener player. This ball works and hooks
For competition purpose. The strike force will bring you lot of feedback and satisfaction

Likes: This ball is very clean thru the heads and reads the midlane like no others!!! When the ball hit the break point, it signals without warning
Dislikes: The only thing I see with is ball is even on the house shot, in the heaviest oil, it tended to squirt a little, but recovered quickly. ( if this is a Dislike)

I am using it in OOB condition. The ball gets through the heads even on a 'worn out' pattern. Hits STRONG and carries the corners well. I am a  tweener with not a lot of speed (13-14mph). It also gives me a nice amount of correction when I make a hand error on release.

5" pin above bridge, MB below and right of thumb. I tried this deep inside and when it hit the breakpoint it went dead left. Talk about turning the corner, wow! When I took a little hand out, I could play a little swing from in the oil out to the dry at 35 to 40 feet and it was devastating from light to flush, and even tripped a few 4 pins. This is my new medium condition ball. I'm loving my Visionary equipment.

drilled the immortal pearl with a 5 inch pin to pap drilling mb 90* to the thumb. ball is very strong off the break point on  fresh ths or when there is carry down, don't be afraid to give this ball some room. i left the ball in box condition so it would retain more energy once it hit the break point at about the 5 board at 45 feet. i have used this ball when the g-3 just couldn't make it back on the carry down. i have used this ball as a 1-2 punch with the solid immortal.

The AMB-IMMORTAL  Anti-Mass Bias core design. Great ball by Visionary.

I drilled mine with the pin below my bridge and cg kicked out 45 degrees. First set out on THS .
Med-Heavy oil with Med backends this ball gave me a great read of the mid lanes with a strong but very controllable backend reaction.
I started with my feet standing 25-30 & looking at 12 , playing out to 5-7 . The ball cleared the heads with ease  as it reached 40-45 ft the core
Started its flip and the ball exploded the pocket. I stayed here for the  first game .
After the first game I had to move in about 3-5 boards deeper with me feet and this ball just worked no matter where I moved.
When I started the 3rd the lanes where getting too dry , so I had to switch to my Orge Pearl. Great 1 – 2 combination.

The Immortal Pearl is a Great ball to start with, Visionary really came up with a winner with this one.

First set out- Immortal Pearl 259 , Immortal Pearl 246 , Ogre Pearl 238 – 743 series. Thank you Visionary

    Lane Conditions: Various

Right handed tweener, 15-16 mph ball speed.

Drilled this one up a few weeks ago and got more than I bargained for. Visionary really does give you exactly what they advertise.

Mine was 15 lb, 3 oz, 2.5 tw with a 3" pin to start. I wanted something to go real long and flip on the backend. So, I wound up with pin negative over middle finger, mb right of thumb. No weight hole needed.

First time out with it the shot was on the med side, but there was carrydown from an earlier bumper league. I moved way right and was able to play the ball up 8. I didn't really see the flip due to the oil in the back which tamed down my reaction.

Second time out the shot was similar to above, a little bit less oil, but carrydown was present, moved a little left but not much. Played the ball from 12 at the arrows out to 10. Again, not much of a flip reaction due to the carrydown.

Third time out, med oil, fresh backends. I was able to move in a bit and get this ball out. Started out playing over 12 out to 8. This ball hit dry and it flipped like someone kicked it from the gutter. I was able to stay with this line for a while until the heads broke down a bit, then it was a simple 2-1 move left and I was right back in the pocket. The deeper I got, the more it flipped. I really like the reaction I got out of the ball on this shot.

Overall, this ball gets EASY length. This ball literally went 40-45 feet before it flipped over. It's move, with this drill, is skid/flip, just what I was looking for. Hit and carry are interesting. The ball doesn't "pop" at the pins, but it carries well. It throws them around and sends messengers.

This is a great ball from Visionary. Very good skid/flip ball for medium oil.

Can't wait to drill the solid!!

    Likes: great medium oil ball
I normally out to 10 and have it hook back into the pocket but with this ball I play inside going into aroung 16 and snaps into the pocket.  Or I will play at 5 on drier conditions. Hard hitting ball I own.

Dislike: When the lanes get dry the ball snaps too hard.

    Layout: 4 1/4 X 4, mb 1 inch right of the thumb
Pin distance: 3-4, top weight 3.5 ounces
    surface OOB
    Style: High rev rate
Ball Speed: 18 to 19 mph, per Qubica

The Pin ended up just to the right my ring finger and the cg stacked and a little right, I had to throw the ball a few times to find the right placement for the weight hole due to the amount of flare.  I was using this as my second ball out of the bag on a medium heavy THS. The higher RG allowed the ball to get through the heads easily and the huge diff allows the ball to flrae a tone and be a monster on the back part of the lanes.  I tried the ball as first out of the bag, but on fresh this ball was just to much for me on the back ends, I have to wait till the Solid Ogre starts reading to early, then the Immortal is golden.  For me this works out to be a solid medium oil ball as long as the back ends are not to clean as this ball will just go crazy.  If there is a little bit of carry down this ball eats right through it, great power, the ability to play deep as you feel like with amazing recovery are the trademarks of this piece. I just fear clean backends as this ball flares an amazing amount and moves so strongly on the backends.

So far I compare this to the Angular one probably the most, the back end and recovery of this ball is amazing, the pearlized cover allows you through the heads then the weight block takes over.

I am very pleased with this ball, it gets easily through the heads and has an amazing turn to the pocket in medium oil and the easy ability to play deep without fear of recovery, you never have to worry about that with this ball.

    My specs:
Left handed, ball speed around 16 MPH, rev rate around 300 RPM, axis rotation of around 60 degrees, and axis tilt around 30 degrees.

Let me just start by saying that I have some reservations about writing this review, since the last thing I want to see is this ball in the hands of someone I’m bowling against.  I would just as soon keep this ball my “secret weapon”.  I drilled it up with both the pin and mass bias 4.5” from the axis.  I thought long and hard about drilling it up this way, since I had seen what this drill pattern had done with the Centaur Solid, and the Immortal has a core with even more differential and a polished pearl cover.  I was kind of afraid that the breakpoint would be more than I could control, but took a deep breath and decided to give it a try.  Am I ever glad I did!  This ball is just a blast to throw!  It glides through the heads and midlane so easily that you begin to wonder about its strength, but then it comes to life in a great big way at the breakpoint.  The way this thing revs up and makes its move to the pocket, it seems like the ball speed increases after the breakpoint.  And hit?  Let’s just say that so far my carry percentage is in the high 90’s with this ball.  In a house where I finished last year with a 218 average, I’ve used this ball for the last three weeks and am averaging 240!  It just throws pins sideways and doesn’t leave anything in its wake.  I’ve been able to just roll this baby with an easy stroke, not doing anything to the ball and letting it do all the work, and had a stronger reaction than just about anything I’ve ever thrown.  People who have seen me throw other balls watched me throw this one, and when I turned around they were just laughing and shaking their heads.  No one could believe the reaction.  On a medium lane condition, I was playing from around 14 at the foul line to 10 at the arrows out to 4 at 45 feet, and then coming in dead flush.  One person commented that it looked like someone tilted the lane sideways at the breakpoint, and the ball just ran downhill.  All I have to worry about is accuracy, just getting it on line.  The finish, hit and carry are all a given.  This ball is a stroker’s dream.  It lets them play their accuracy game and still get the entry angle, hit and carry of a more powerful player.  For the tweeners, it lets them generate more power and entry angle than anyone should need without the fear of early hook.  For the heavy handed, this could be an “open up the lane” ball supreme.  The only downside I can think of with this ball is that it’s so much fun to throw you might be tempted to stick with it longer than you should or use it on conditions that you shouldn’t.  It’s the kind of ball you just hate to put up.

lets get the important stuff out of the way first.

pin location: right of ring finger and 1/4 up
CG location: at 4 o'clock in relation to the pin
1" weight hole just right of the CG
PAP 6" right and 1_3/4" up from center of grip
yes, it is an strong-early layout on a ball designed to go long with backend

when i drilled this ball, the idea in mind was "i know it is designed to go long, but i want it to roll earlier than normal so i can move left and have a chance at play inside of everyone else on the pair." well guess what, because this ball is so dynamically strong on the backend with its high flare, if i get a little slow, i get to watch the ball change directions twice. -(i try not to get slow when this ball is in my hand)- as for the balls overall performance, i am with everyone else leaving reviews, this ball is a monster. it gets great skid through the heads and drastic roll over in the backend. although some have said it is a bit tough on fresh backends, i love it! carry down an issue, i love it even more. entire lane starting to get a little scorched, move left and let-her rip. Visionary really put a lot of thought into this ball when they produced this high flaring pearl. there are guys at my home center that love throwing my immortal pearl ball because they have never had a "pearl" turn this much. with my layout on this ball, it can easily give you a good look even when on heavy oil. if you can hit the same mark on the lane, you will notice this ball has a consistant reaction from pitch to pitch. and those that tend to pull it a little here and there or push it at will, rest assured, this ball will shock you at how well it holds and/or recovers with missed releases.

after talking so much about this ball, one of the guys on the monday night men's league went and purchased one. he said he liked the reaction (his is drilled with the pin above the ring finger and CG in his palm) but he doesn't get to throw it much. well "SURE!" i said. "just don't attempt to throw it when bowling us." well, he thought this funny and two weeks ago, we bowled their team. and of coarse he pulled his immortal pearl out of his bag and how i wish i had waited to tell him about that ball.

Visionary Bowling Products - success with the Immortal Pearl. if you don't owwn one, you should really look at getting one to add to your arsenal, i assure you, you won't be upset with that purchase (unless you have a nut drilling your ball).

    Information about the tester:
    16-18 MPH
    375-425 RPM
    Power Player
    PAP – 5 1/8” over, 1” up

    Visionary Immortal Pearl
    Pin – 3”
    Top Weight – 2.83 oz.
    Surface – OOB 1500 polish

Drilled – 4.5” from PIN to PAP, PIN above and to the right of ring, MB left of thumb, CG in palm

    Conditions –

    1.  Modified Shark

This ball shines out of the box finish.  I was able to play deep with this ball, and it opened up the lanes for me.  It gave me the right look at my breakpoint and finished strong off the dry.  Out of all the balls I have tried for this pattern, this one was very continuous through the pins and gave me the best look.  This ball gave me options for attacking the pocket, but the best line was playing deep.  I was able to put a lot of forward roll and play 20 to 8, but the deeper line was more advantageous.

    2.  Chameleon

I flirted with this ball on the pattern to see how it compares to the Immortal Solid.  While the Solid rolled through the pins and gave me a nice arc, the Pearl gave me a sharper angle at my breakpoint and left me with a bunch of easy spares.  If I was to shoot for score, I would use this ball after my Immortal Solid, which would have been after three games.  After the line broke down, this ball shined as it gave me a nice sharp arc at continuation.

    3.  THS (36-38 ft.)

This ball has become my go-to ball after the first day throwing it.  The ball reads and reacts very well for such a strong asymmetrical.  I get plenty of length and a snap that reminds me of an old ball of my younger bro’s, the Storm Eraser PBT.  It revs up very well in the mid-lane, and gives me a strong controllable continuous motion through the pins.  Out of everything I have thrown in the years, this ball is the smoothest of all of them.  It allows me to throw a deep inside line on the mediums and more of a direct line on the heavier side of oil.

After a few months has passed and trying to figure out how versatile this ball is, this is a benchmark ball.  For my needs, it will work on lighter sides of medium, but I would rather throw the SS Ogre if I needed to use a pearl reactive.  For mediums to medium/heavy patterns, this ball is so smooth and predictable throughout the lane.  It is very versatile, from the deep inside lines on mediums to playing a more direct line on heavier patterns, I have seen a continuous sweeping motion that finishes strong.

    Information about the tester:
    15-17 MPH
    300-325 RPM
    40-60 degrees axis rotation
    Tweener
    PAP – 5 1/8” over, 1” up (high tracker)

    Visionary Immortal Pearl
    Pin – 3”
    Top Weight – 3 oz.
    Surface – OOB 1500 polish

Drilled – 4.75” from PIN to PAP, Pin directly above ring finger, CG 3" from PAP and kicked right at 45 degree angle

Tested on a 38' THS. I was fairly uncertain on how to drill this ball because of the huge differential, but I decided on a 10:30 drill with the MB to the right of the thumb. This ball is by far the biggest hooking ball ive ever had, on fresh backends it is way too much, but after a few games when carrydown sets in the ball is golden. On fresh I started out playing 25 to 4 at the break, and it would just scream back. Now some may ask why I drilled it this strong...Well I did that because nothing hooks like a new ball, so when the cover gets broken in, it will hook less, so I didnt want to drill it to where it would do what I wanted from the get go because eventually it would hook much less and thus would have an undesirable reaction. I did the same thing with my AMB pearl, at first it hooked waaaay to much, but eventually it hooked just the amount I needed. Overall I definate must have, it makes a great medium oil ball, and has the ability to play from any angle.

yes, it is an strong-early layout on a ball designed to go long with backend

had to jump on here and post an update review of this ball and its layout. after 1 year of play with this ball, it is still playing strong on the lanes. monday night men's league, i was having problems with play of any ball in my bag 15 board out. i would have one ball that was giving me great mid lane looks (Columbia 300 Rival) and another that was giving me a good backend reaction (Columbia 300 Wrath), to bad i couldn't put the two together. instead, took out the "I.M. Pearl" to see its reaction. with 5 member teams, i felt that this ball should roll clean through the heads and have a hard, smooth transition on the back. i was so right but wasn't expecting what i saw. i had to move left and started the ball around the 25 board (4th dot from the left side) playing out to around the 7 board at 38'. perfect reaction and just enough oil to give me a great reaction on the lane. i shot 167 the first game as i tried numerous things to carry. switched to the I.M. Pearl and finished 216, 267. this prompted me to play this ball the rest of the week shooting everything from 642 up to 728. thanks again Visionary for the release of the Immortal Pearl.
