Building a new arsenal

I am new to 900 Global equipment, Totally impressed with the bank pearl. Its excellent!
 
I am looking for advice on building an 4 ball arsenal all 900 Global.
 
I have just purchased a new Hammer Red Backlash for light oil/Spares which is very good and I will not replace. Obviously I have a Bank Pearl, so I need to hear what else to add to the mix.

If you trust your pro shop guy he should be able to pick a good layout for you. Have you ever tried double thumb layout?? If your looking for the most overall hook its the way to go....I guess it depends where you want the Break Out/Eagle to fit in your arsenal.

I just spoke to my proshop guy , he said lets drill the Eagle the same or close to the 505T, said it will be more angular and a few boards stronger (at OBB)and then redrill the 715T double thumb. He said it will make the 715t stronger in the oil. What do you guys think?

Seems like it would seperate the 715T and  Eagle in your arsenal a little.Sounds like your proshop knows what they are doing a rarity these days at least around me..... The only thing you would possibly be missing would be something with a really strong cover but you should have 99% of the conditions you will see covered....

I have had a couple balls with strong covers and they didnt really work for me, the only one that did was a Virtual Gravity which I liked alot. I had a Mutant Cell and a CSystem 3.5 and I didnt care for either. He did mention that if I was changing my arsenal I should look at the Nano to go above the Eagle. I know this kills him since he is a Track Staff member.
 
I will say I really like both 505T and 715T, when I had them drilled I wasnt bowling a lot of tourneys, now i am and the 715T drilled that way does ok in heavier oil, but Id like to see it turn a bit harder. The 505T is a great med/heavy and fresh THS ball. Very consistent roll and reads the lane great. I didnt care for the "A" balls and that why I ventured to 900 Global. The Bank pearl although not skid/flip it is still angular for me. It has become my first ball out on THS.

I have had balls crack from every manufacturer, so not sure if one is any worse than another. I have had multiple Ebonite and Columbia (pre Ebonite ownership) crack, at least one from Storm and 900. Brunswick and Lane 1 are the only ones I have owned that have not had cracks, but have only had a couple of each. The 900 G was a Break Point Pearl. The one common thread between most of these is strong cover stocks. That being said I dug out an old orange Pirahna a while back to find it cracked in half after 20 years. Off subject of this thread but thought I would respond to the question. There was an Ebonite that I loved back in the 90's (blank on which one right now) that I loved. A couple buddies of mine picked these up at the same Ebonite promotion and both theirs either cracked when drilled or within weeks after. Mine lasted a couple years and then split in half setting in my den in the bag between weeks. It like several of mine had a monster back end and read the dry extremly hard, skid flip type reaction similar to the BP pearl.

 

On the Eagle,  I am not sure about the Nano but can't imagine a ball any more versatile than the Break Out. That for me is the strength of this cover/core combination.


Roll with 900 Global.

I remember 1 of the old Ebonite balls that a lot of people threw around here was the Turbo X which was a solid reactive.  It's actually still listed at bowlingball.com: http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-balls/Ebonite/3670/Turbo-X.html

The ball was one of the better early reactives by reading the midlane well and once hit the dry, it was very angular.  It seemed to carry extremely well and my dad owned one for a while.  Then, he added a Teal Rhino Pro to compliment it and give another look.  That was another great ball of its time. 

 

As for me, I still have my old C300 Piranha and Cuda/C along with an old Brunswick Purple Rhino Prositting in my basement.  The Cuda and Rhino haven't cracked.  The Piranha did, and only recently.

Okay....here is what 3 balls I would add from 900G to make a stupid good lineup..

 

Raw Profit...Amazing piece that is killing everywhere in the country

Favorite....There is no benchmark ball out there anywhere...
