OK to drill "into" the pin?

I am ready to get my LOOK drilled and I can't decide whether to have the pin "in" the ring finger or below it.
Generally speaking, will it crack if only 1/2 of the pin is drilled?

I never drilled a pin out of a brunswick ball before but I have on storm and roto equipment. Before drilling a pin out of any ball it is usually better to use a smaller size drill bit first then drill with the correct size..

Like I said I have drilled partially into the pin before and never had problems . It does void warranty but I haven't personally seen any cracking
