Hello All-
There has been speculation as to what we have up our sleeve. Well we are finally ready to let the world know.
Our new High Performance line "Bounty" will start shipping the first week of November. Features the new Double Cross core that Nick has been working feverishly on, wrapped with S77 that will produce a very aggressive downlane reaction even at 1000k Abralon. Not only is this a great ball, but we are doing something nobody in the industry has done before. Buy this ball, shoot a 300 and win money from us. See details below.
$25,000 Reward
900 Global puts up the Bounty for top bowlers and pro shops around the country. Thats right $25,000 cash, bucks, smackers, clams, greenbacks, dinero, coin, moolah, or whatever term it is you like. The fact is its up for grabs starting November 1st. Here's how it works.... Shoot a USBC sanctioned 300 game with the Bounty and receive a cut of the $25,000.
PRO SHOPS THAT DRILL A BOUNTY FOR A BOWLER THAT SHOOTS 300 WILL ALSO RECEIVE A SHARE OF THE $25,000. What's the catch? NONE!
Offer good through April 30th 2009, at which point the $25,000 will be divided up among the Pro Shops and Bounty 300 game bowlers. Go to http://www.900global.com/thebounty/ for complete details.
I know the first question. NO this is not the end of the Break series! This is a new price point. Breaks will continue.

its a good idea, a bit of a gimick in my book. Considering that there are about 250 3's thrown a month, the pro shops get their cut so ever 300 x's 2 = 500 and this last for 4 months......you'll get about $6.75 out of this thing.
--------------------
The only sure thing about luck is that it's bound to change....
You must take in to account the number of people that will throw a USBC sanctioned 300 with this ball. That will narrow the results considerably. Eric how many 300's have been reported to you with the S 75 in the last 30 days?

Awesome idea, Eric. Can't wait to get my hands on a Bounty!

And if you are a junior, can we just replace this with another ball in the company or scholarship money?

As a junior it still wouldn't be legal to get a ball, but scholarship money would be. They would have to check into junior's being able to win though as I could see it getting touchy.

Or maybe we should just keep the whole junior status out of it and get some bread.

In the rules it says that the Pro Shop must wait until the bowler provides the USBC application letter before mailing off the redemption card.
Is it the letter that you receive in the mail from the USBC verifying the 300 game that you will need?
Or the application for a 300 game that you fill out the night of bowling the 300?
If it's the application that you fill out, is a copy of that ok or does it have to be the original?
If it's the letter you get in the mail, do you expect the letter to show up in the mail within the 2 weeks that you are expecting the cards to be mailed within?

Its not a gimmick. You could win $250 a share or $10 a share we don't know yet. We will have a running tally on this that bowlers can monitor off of our website. The thing to keep in mind is we really want it to be $6.75. Shocker! We have already committed to paying out the $25K regardless of how many people do it but if it gets split that low that means alot of peeps shot a 300 with this ball. IE we made a damn good bowling ball that people are having success with. If you read the rules it clearly states that we reserve the right to ADD money to this program. Whats it worth to someone? This idea is something were excited about and its something bowlers and pro shops should be excited about. It's DIFFERENT! 4-1's and %'s off only benefit the shop guy. This program benefits bowlers and shops.

Johnny-We will need just a copy of the application signed by the league secretary. Its faster that way. We will then post the bounty as pending until we verify it through USBC by phone call or bowl.com posting. Or the bowler could even fax a copy of the congrats letter from USBC.

In response to those that think it's a gimmick, I ask simply one questions, How much money did you receive from the manufacture of the ball you shot your last 300 game with? If the answer was nothing than where I come from something is better than nothing.

Sorry missed yours. To claim Bounty as a driller you need to have a valid tax ID number and business license. So if your a shop operator drill and shoot a 300 you actually get 2 shares at the same time.

Yeah, horrible gimmick. Better to just give away $100 gas cards, but limit it to $10 claims every 30 days!
Combine this offer with a my300club.com membership, shoot a 300 and you'll end up with some cash and a new ball!
It's probably just from all this election stuff going on, but I get a little leary when I hear money and "double cross" in the same conversation!

I commend 900 Global for doing this promotion. The one thing I do not understand is that the promotion they are offering is "FREE" and people are complaining. The manufacturer is being generous enough to offer this or any type of promotion. I understand that a competitor is offering $100 gas cards for purchasing certain products of theirs. Does this show that the bowler is going to bowl a 300 with it? No. I'm not saying that the other competitor's equipment isn't good so please drop that one before you want to bash me on that comment. I think 900 Global has this promotion perfect! It promotes us to acheive a higher level in bowling and it also acheives the fact that 900 Global equipment is good if not better than their competitors. I sure would love to say that "I got a piece of that 25k" even if it may not be a lot which everyone is all speculating here. Where can you say that you got rewarded no matter how small or big it is from a manufacturer? We should all be thanking 900 Global and not questioning the promotion.
-
Great program! Again 900 Global keeps the pro shop in mind when trying to promote their products. What about the fact that everyone that wants a Bounty will HAVE to go to a pro shop to buy the ball? Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 900 Global is the only ball company that try's to keep their product off the internet. I'm sure they are losing their fare share of sales, let alone the exposure that the internet provides. I spoke to their rep, and that is strictly to support the pro shops. Thanks for giving me one more reason to push your products...let the Bounty hunt begin!!

PS: One question for the 900 Global staff...If I bowl a 300 in a PBA Regional, do I qualify for the Bounty?... I believe they are USBC Sanctioned.
-
PBA tournaments are USBC sanctioned so that will count as well.

I think what Global is doing is a wonderful idea. Bowlers who buy the ball and shoot a 300 receive a cash reward. Of course the amount will be based on how many 300's are posted. Lets just say that 250 are shot. This will mean a cash reward of $50.00 to the bowler as well as the pro shop that drilled the ball. Some pro shops might even double the reward to the bowler who shot the 300, by giving them their share.
Now as for the basement ball drillers. This program does nothing different then any other program offered by the other ball companies. They all usually pertain to balls bought in a retail pro shop or online.
$50.00 is $50.00, that's not bad!!!! And that is based on 250, 300 games being shot. And in a certain time period with a certain brand of balls, that could be a lot. So the final payoff could be much higher.
I personnally think this is a pretty decent offer that rewards both the customer and the pro shop.
Nice job 900Global

Come again!!!! Are all these 300's you are talking about from one ball company?
I don't think so. Now in the time frame of this promotion along with the fact that only 300's shot using certain balls count, I seriously doubt that someone who shoots a 300 will come out with only $6.75.
This is no "GIMMICK" It's a decent promotion that rewards both the bowler and the pro shop.
An excellent idea!!!

My question is...How do you plan on regulating whether the bowler really threw the bounty all 12 frames. All someone has to do is buy a bounty throw a 300 with any ball and say they threw the bounty and they win.
-
The "$25,000 Bounty Reward" is a gimmick. A well thought out, "hopefully" well executed gimmick. ALL of the newer ideas (Gas cards, 20 ball giveaway, etc) are gimmicks. The 900G reward is only different in that it's a better idea than most other companies have. How is getting cash, even if it is only 10 bucks, a bad thing for the bowler and the pro shop/driller? I'm not a 900G person, haven't thrown any and honestly, don't have a great desire to throw any, but that doesn't make this promotion a bad idea.
-
Don't try it. You are being watched. Besides, why would you want to screw the company that is trying to help you out?

newguy/eric great concept on the bounty at 1000 abralon. but here in the midwest we are bowling in the sahara desert. there is no oil in this part of town. you have to go to the middle east to find some. i will be ordering my bounty just because i own every other 900 golbal ball. which is a good thing.i just hope that jls order enough secret bean sauce so i can get this ball down the lane. i will call him now to confirm......
btw is the pitbull still coming out before spring. cant wait to get my hands on that beast. ps hope the teeth are sharp.

Excellent promotion and even better linking the bowlers with a pro shop.
900 Global understands that this is in fact a business and they support
pro shops, hence the rise in our sales this year in their equipment. Keep
supporting pro shops and having sales run thru the pro shop and you'll
continue to be one of our leading sellers in our shops in Cleveland.
Thanks,
Joe

Punctuation is your friend.
That said, I would not even consider asking that question. Are there any honest folks left in this world, or is everyone just looking for ways to screw the system?

The Box code only allows 1 Per ball, as Jon mentions, if the only goal is to screw the system than maybe we need to reconsider our promos going forward. A reward to our loyal supporters was the goal of the program. If the dissidents screw with it than the program or similar programs won't happen again. We will rely on our supports to help police it.

I think that this is a decent promotion and it will be well received. All this talk about ways to make a fast buck, well I don't buy it. First, you do have to buy the bounty and have a box code and a sales receipt. Then there is that other thing called a 300 game. Now if someone shoots a 300 game using another brand and then tries to say they used the Bounty. Well they must ask themselves is it worth it, if they get caught. Loose lips sink ships. Someone who knows that they used brand X yet claimed that they used the Bounty, could turn them into the USBC. And then their 300 game might be disqualified because they would have filled out the form with the wrong information. And why would anyone risk something like that to maybe win $100.00? That makes no sense.
Newguy / Eric, I think you have an excellent idea here, and hope you go forward with it. It sounds like other ball companies might be worried!!!!!
And maybe they should.

A USBC Sanctioned 300 also needs to have the paper work filled out. I would have the league presidents verify the 300 by filling out the paperwork even though your not eligible for an award. Have the paper work filled out and the serial number of the ball must be on the paper. Another way to have it verified.
-
Eric/newguy,
You fellows are to be commended for this effort. Anytime you go out of your way for a promotion of a product by tying it to honesty for a reward though, you have just opened pandoras box I'm afraid.
Although your intentions are good, there are just far too many dis-honest people floating around today which the words "HONOR" and "INTEGRITY" have little, if any meaning.
I feel that most of the guys on here wouldn't/won't be the problem, but, we are only a very small portion of the bowling worlds pie. Too many times have I seen bowlers bowl an honor score with a "questionable" ball, only to fill out the forms for their awards, claiming to have used an entirey different ball than the one they actually used. How are you to prove any different?
I feel that virtually anyone who has a BOUNTY in the bag will try to collect the prize for the 300, regardless of whether they used the BOUNTY to actually shoot it with or not.
Maybe I am wrong. Maybe I am far to skeptical of human nature. But, just maybe, I have observed far too many liars doing exactly what I have said and it has undermined my faith in people and their honesty.
Good luck with your promotion. May you have nothing but success.

Juggar, I see your point, but I don't think it will happen. Sure if people think they may get a shot at $5k, but that is not going to happen. More then likely someone shooting a 300 with the Bounty might get a $50.00 - $100.00. Keep in mind that the pro shops that drill the balls also get a share.
Now ask yourself, is it worth getting caught cheating for $50.00 or $100.00.
First you could lose your 300 game, and who knows the USBC may ban you from tournaments. Is this worth it for $50-$100? I don't think so.
And now with so many people knowing about this deal, more will be on the watch to see if the 300's are really being shot with the ball people claim.
Newguy / Eric, I think everything will be just fine.

I think this will be a self policing program, anyone who purchases a Bounty will surely be on the watch out for anyone on their league trying to "take advantage of the rules" because it will be money that will be coming out of their possible share of the "Bounty". Hope this makes sense.
