900 Global Volt Solid video and written review
« on: March 06, 2020, 11:36:30 AM »

This time we had the chance to try the 900 Global Volt Solid and this ball is definitely a great addition to the 900 Global lineup. From the current balls available from 900 Global, this is definitely their benchmark ball.

The Volt Solid is really smooth and predictable. I can play more tighter angles with it and the ball has a consistent reaction from shot to shot. The difference with this ball compared to other solids symmetrical balls in the market, is how strong it is downlane. The Volt Solid provides a smooth and early read, and somehow it still has a fast response to friction and a strong and yet predictable backend motion for a sanded ball with a solid coverstock.

The Volt Solid is the kind of ball I could use on almost anything but extreme conditions. The Volt Solid is easy to read, it has great continuation and it is more versatile than I thought it would be.

Personally, this is the kind of ball that usually start to bowl with. It lets me know how the lanes are and it tells me wether I need to ball up, ball down or make any adjustments. This can easily be a first ball out of the bag for many bowlers, or as other would say, a great benchmark ball.

It will be a great option for bowlers who are speed dominant or who have a low rev rate. The Volt Solid revs up quickly and if offers something that I'm always looking for when I use a ball like this one: Consistency and predictability.

I feel this ball is a great step down from the Honey Badger Extreme Solid. Once the HB Extreme Solid starts burning up or hooking too much, the Volt Solid will be a great ball to go to if you want to keep a similar shape.

The Volt Solid will be a great option when you want to blend the pattern. When you are bowling on a walled up house shot or in a flat pattern, you want to control the backend with a ball that offers a smooth reaction down the lane and doesn't overreact.

Kudos to 900 Global for introducing a ball like this one to their lineup. The Volt Solid will be a valuable piece for a lot of league and competitive bowlers.

Thank you for watching!

Good review as always Angel.

What are your thoughts on the Volt Solid vs. Equilibrium?

What are your thoughts on the Volt Solid vs. Equilibrium?

Thank you! For me the Volt Solid is a tad earlier and smoother than the Equilibrium. I actually thought about having a league bag with the Volt Solid, Equilibrium and Flux Pearl. While they have similar hook potential, they all complement each other quite well.

For me the Equilibrium has the ball I use when nothing else works. The Volt Solid has been my go to ball since I got it. The Equilibrium is cleaner and has more shape down the lane.

I have too many balls, and am only going to pick one. Volt Solid or Equilibrium- what do you recommend?

Mainly on house shot, generally dryer lanes, prefer it to go longer and have more shape at the end.

Then I would go with the Equilibrium. I feel that the Equilibrium is a tad more versatile, it is cleaner than the Volt Solid and has more shape down the lane. I can play straight and I can open up the lane and the ball works great. Volt Solid is great when you have more oil, a great ball to start with on fresh and control the breakpoint.
