I am thinking I am gonna drill a 2nd Train since I like it a lot. I am thinking using a similar layout and polishing it. I am wondering if anyone used the ball OOB and then polished it and how much difference it made in length and overall boards covered. I am thinking a polished one with the same layout would be a perfect step down when the heads start to go. I am just worried that it could be one of those balls that covers a lot of boards when polished in the back so much that it would defeat the purpose of what I'm planning. So I can't decide if I should go similar layout or go with a weaker layout.

Really had my first opportunity to use my Train this past weekend in Wichita at the Southwest Tournament. I had adjusted mine to the A surface based on reaction in my home center from some practice and limited league use. In team I changed to the Train late in the first game but begin to find a groove with it by the third game. Enough I started with it in Doubles and opened the day up with a 289. While the shot was changing pretty quick since we were on overlaid leftovers still stayed consistent with a 216 &210 to finish but made a bad shot late in each game. Had to change to a T surfaced Bank Roll the next set since by then we were playing deeper and I needed a cleaner look through the mid lane. I drilled my Train with the pin at about 4 1/2" from PAP, just above and to the right of my ring finger and CG at 4". This is a drill I haven't used in a while but have had great results in tourments with in the past on symetrical cores.
Can't complain about the way this ball carries. Even other guys were asking what I was throwing since it was hitting so hard. I think it is really easy to read the ball reaction on this one. Very smooth and predictable with its move. I imagine I will also add one of these to the bag for Nationals with the pin down in my favorite drill. This ball has earned its spot next to my Break Out as one of the top 900 balls I own. I have two Eagles I rolled at Nationals last year and a third I will drill with a modified Rico that will go along to Baton Rouge as well if things are anything like 2011.

Been thinking of polishing mine as well, or at least go to the "A" grit pad. Mine checked up really early in league last week. Its never a good thing when the ball turns left just past the arrows. There are no crisp backends, though. So I'm afraid if I shine it up, I'll have something that constantly hangs ten pins since it doesn't want to finish. But I feel like a dull ball burns up so early for me, and I hang ten pins there as well. Never liked my Solaris Requiem dull. Will an "A" or "T" pad help retain enough energy to kick out a ten pin?

i have 2 trains one at oob
and the other with a T pad
big difference and the carry is
off the charts i dont think id polish
it for it cover up the pores,, try a T pad
and if its still to much try an eagle
just my 2 cents worth

I really like both of mine. This cover is really high maintenance for me which is a pain in the butt. Had the same issues with the Bank Roll. I need to bring it down to 360 grit and back up every 20 games or so. But my 2nd one I hit with rough buff and it is much cleaner through the fronts and has a pretty similar backend reaction.
