Approved July 08. Any info??
--------------------
Come AMF/900 or don''t come at all!!
-
A new line under the Break series is needed, too much gap between Break Series and Creature series dollar wise. Hopefully it is upper mid priced like I am guessing, gotta stay on my budget of 1-2 balls a month now.
-
Damn 1-2 a month.. I only wish :\ ..
-
For me the good ole days was as many as 10-15 a month, so it is budget lol

I can't believe Richie Rich is not on this yet! Hey Rich, can I be your PR guy? I guess I have to have this ball there on Aug. 2.

nice jab on him bo! Don't let him run you over all the time! I don't know how I've looked this post over. Awakening is a private label ball that was poured and stamped by/with the 900 logo/company. As of right now, it is a limited production ball, only 500 have been poured in 14,15,and 16 lbs. 900 rules apply as far as online sales. Pro shops can buy into the ball starting with the purchase of a case. We plan on building more as they are needed. The ball is approved as mentioned, for usbc competition. Our goal was to create a mid priced ball that will not only preform well, but one that could stay in the product line for years to come. Pics can be seen here

Coverstock, core shape, Rg, Differential?

coverstock is the "s" word i can't use! which would be around s45, a little strong than that found on the creature. 2.55 rg on a 15lb ball. and the diff is .039.

Hey Billy...he originally wanted to name the ball Ego, but it has already been taken. Wouldn't that have been great! Maybe instead of 1 case, I would have got 2.
Just kidding Richie Rich.
All kidding aside, this is a must have in anyones bag.

Looks very similar to a Cuda 2k core...

I wouldn't mind giving one of these a try when my Break Pearl is too much ball.

Track VooDoo! I thought Ebonite bought all rights to Columbia & Track, if so, how could Phil make the Awakening with an old Columbia core?

Seahawks Fan! I don't hate other NFL teams, just their Fan's!
But Danny Spranza or whatever the guys name is that was doing Columbia and Track desgins is now working for 900, if he actually created the core wouldn't he have rights to use it?

Unless the core is patented would it make a difference? If so work done while with the company is rights to the company
-
I can only assume there was some kind of agreement in place during the Ebonite purchase of Columbia where Phil retained the ability to use the old cores/covers but not the names.
Regardless...I think this ball would be fantastic for me when I sub on the late squad and my Break Pearl just turns left and heads for the 7 pin.
Wow I sure would like to try and get my hands on one (or more) of these.

Cores not patented are fair game.
-
If I'm not misstaken every ball company has used the light bulb shaped core somehow.
-
Anybody drilled an Awakening?
Like to know more about results and specs. started with. General ball reaction rolly vs. skid/flip, etc.?
Thanks!

Can we say..Storm Street Rod by 900 Global

well luv you can say the tropics are blobal and the brerraks are storm if thats what your asking
-
"Can we say..Storm Street Rod by 900 Global"
According to the SAtorm rep at the Bob's trade show the core in the Street Rods is the same core that was in the Power Bolt ie. the Bolt core inverted
-
Running out of idea's on core's again.Im sure that core has been put in every kind of shell it can.Maybe its time for something new, like a diamond core in a reactive shell..............lol

-
why change a proven winner? This core shape has been very successful over the years. As i've mentioned while the shape is similar to other cores, the numbers are different. Every ball company has used a light bulb shaped core. We wanted to make a ball with a good reaction that pro shops would not be afraid to buy into because they wouldn't be killed in a year like so many bowling balls are. A pro shop could put this ball on the shelf and years later when a customer comes in and asks for (another) one, they will still be in production!

The Bowlers Edge 2,
You've drilled a few up I assume. What can you tell me? Skid/snap or more rolly. S45 cover more like the Creature Pearl?
Trying to get an idea before I drill the one I have coming.
Thanks!

I find it to be extremely versatile. The one i drilled with the pin over the middle finger out of box gets down the lane really clean, revs up in the mids with a sharp, strong backend. The other with the pin under the ring finger hit w/2000 starts up and reads the front alot sooner, strong in the mids with a strong, smooth continuous hook that covers more boards (obviously) than the pin up. I never matched up well with the creature pearl, for me the solid was much much better, and even though these hook more, i feel this ball is closer in terms of hook amount to the solid creature than the pearl.
