Kind of a strange contest. A lot of prople are at a terrible disadvantage because they don't or haven't played poker especially if it is Texas Hold'em. Some people have absolutely no interest in poker or cards of any kind. Now if the game is just five or seven card and is just luck then that is another story. Eric please clear up for all of us.

So many potential customers will have no idea how the game is played and/or have no interest in cards. Just a strange contest to run in conjunction with the sale of a bowling ball.My opinion.Nothing to do with bowling as it has been in the past.

But it is a nice way to get people to try poker, because the entry is free.

My question is as long as I have the form, and the proof of purchase I can sign up right?

For example:

As notsohotshot said there are people that don''t like poker, but want the ball.
Is it possible for me to offer such said person say 1/3rd the cost of the ball for his form, and proof of purchase?

seven card is hardly luck...not when played properly.  I clean up in the Stud/8 sections of HORSE events.  Yeah, the occasional cooler may come along (I lost with quad kings that I had by fifth street) to a guy who rivered a straight flush...but that was in a freeroll.  In a cash game, donkeys like that tend not to chase that long with betting raised and capped each street...

That being said, I do question the wisdom of the promotion, concurring not only that not everyone plays poker and more importantly, not everyone that DOES play wants to play the WSOP-ME.  I know a lot of people that would be out of their element in that event but might actually be comfortable in the lesser bracelet events (ie. the $1K and $2.5K by-in events).

Anyone can register with each unique POP code.  If you buy the ball for your wife but you want to play, register it under your name...etc
If your fortunate enough to win the seat and are unable to play or have no desire to play in the main event we will handle on an individual basis.

This promotion is not mandatory.  Its just a new fun and exciting promotion we are running to reward our customers.  We are the only company that does stuff like this.  ENJOY IT!

I HATE poker, and am hard-pressed to think of ANYTHING I consider to be a bigger waste of time.

To be considered successful, a promotion should appeal to a wide swath of the general audience. This one seems quite limited and very focused on a specific group of people.

Your equipment is great, and I hope you sell so many new balls that you can't keep up with demand, but if you do, I don't think it will be because of this promotion.

If you don't like poker and still want the ball whats the difference between buying this ball and any other high-performance ball?? You still get a ball when you buy it!!  I don't see what the big deal is. I think its a cool promotion and I will definitely get in on it if I can make the online tournament...

By the way A LOT of people were at a disadvantage on the Bounty Hunter promotion too because they will probably never bowl a 300!!! Thats how most contests are some people are gonna have a lot better chance than others. Like Eric said they are the only company that does anything like this so just enjoy the equipment and their generosity!!

just because you hate poker, doesnt mean the "wide swath" of people hate poker.  dont know if you know this but poker is very popular right now. unfortunately maybe more popular than bowling.  where do you think the PBA got the WSOB, hmm maybe from the WSOP which is a huuuuuge event.

back to topic, i think its a good idea.  if i threw 900 equipment, i would definately give it a shot.  good luck with it, ill definately throw in a good word at my shop on this promotion

It's a different kind of promotion.  As a card player or not, it's interesting.  If you are going to buy the ball anyway, but don't want to play the poker tournament, sell it for like $40 to a person you know that does.  Most tournaments that offer a seat to the WSOP main event go for a lot more than that, so you can get a little bit of cash back on your purchase.

Just an option..

Oh, I don't need a promotion to buy G900 stuff, heck it's great stuff, I just failed to see the attraction of this promotional event.

A promotion would never stop me from buying, nor would it induce me TO buy, I just stated my opinion on poker (it SUCKS), and feel like they could've had something with a wider public appeal.

Like I said, I hope the guys in S.A. sell so many balls they can't even make them all.

This is a great promotion, and I for one appreciate the effort that Global 900 is putting in to even offering something like this. They are doing something they certainly don't have to do and people are complaining about it?

I'm not a poker player, but I think it's cool that a company will give you something for nothing! What other company gives you anything with a ball purchase? I know a lot of bowlers that play poker and I know this may be incentive enough for them to try a 900 Global! Great job Eric and company, plus the stuff is amazing! Just my $.02, Bruce

Now THAT'S cool!  I have 3 or 4 customers that are avid Texas Hold'em players, both online and in person so this should help sell a few more Banks!

Can you think of any other company coming out with such a cool offer?

900 Global has shown it likes to give back to the people who invest in them. First with the Bounty Series and now with this.

Poker and the Main Event has become huge since ESPN has been following it.  I think it is a brilliant idea to offer up seats to the Main Event.  Offering up seats to the $1500 events or such just doesn't have the big bang that a seat in the Main Event does. Plus I would think it would be guaranteed exposure for both 900 and for the winner as ESPN cover bowling and poker so would be a natural tie in for a story.

Great job Eric and look forward to trying to win the seat!

Mike

I cant believe the nerve of people b!tching about this. Name another company that gives you a chance to win MILLIONS of dollars if you get lucky. Or that puts up 50 Gs when you shoot 300. Kudos too 900/AMF

Does it grab your attention and entice you to buy a ball when a company or website throws in a "free micro-fiber towel" with your bowling ball purchase?

People will buy this ball regardless if they like poker or not. No big deal if you don't want to try your luck with some online poker. After all what do you have to lose with this?

Great idea Eric!

Are there separate tournaments for consumers    and pro shops, or is it one tournament?  Same with the secondary tournament.

Typical response from all the negative people simply because they don't "like" the program.  You seem to forget that every other company out there does something like this?  Oh wait they don't or at least not to this magnitude.  I commend 900 for thinking out of the box because if they didn't this thread would be called "The bounty program is getting old can't Eric come up with something new" or something to that effect.  Most of us believe in 900 products and what they provide us for other opportunities is simply a bonus. Thanks and have a wonderful day and see you on the virtual felt!

Thanks to everyone for their input on the new program.  We wanted to come up with a program that rewarded bowlers and pro shops, just as the Bounty program did.  Not knowing how many ways the $50,000 would be chopped up, we were hoping to provide larger payouts to our loyal supporters who bowled a 300 game, and the Pro Shops who sold our product.  As you know, both the Bounty and Bounty Hunter program paid a little over $100 to each pro shop and bowler.  Not a bad deal, and $100 more than any other company offers their customers.  It was also encouraging to see that so many bowlers were using our products let alone bowling perfect games with them.
The W.S.O.P. Bank program was developed so we could guarantee 2 lucky winners would get a $10,000 W.S.O.P. Main Event seat plus $1,000 spending cash.  In addition, $1,500 will be spread across the final table finishers.
To clarify the 1st and 2nd online tournaments, the 1st will be for all Pro Shops who sell at least one Bank, and consumers who buy a Bank.  We expect a very high attendance in this tournament, as we believe the Bank is the best ball we have ever introduced, and should be our best seller ever.
The 2nd tournament is reserved for all Pro Shops selling 8 or more Banks, and all consumers that purchase a 2nd Bank for their arsenal.  Pro Shops can earn a 2nd seat (to be used by an employee or friend) by selling 16 or more Banks.  This tournament will have a much lower attendance rate, therefore greatly increasing someones chances of winning the $11,000 seat.  Both tournaments will be a mix of pro shops and consumers.  Details on the internet location and time of the tournaments will be announced soon.  We do know that the 1st tournament will be held in November and the 2nd is slated for sometime in December.
We hope this program will be a huge success, as we want to give back to the shops and bowlers that choose to support us.  We know you have options with the more popular brands, and we appreciate all your help in getting us where we are today.  Good luck with the Bank, and please continue to give us your input.  Thanks,
