Bank Roll first impressions
« on: September 28, 2011, 11:04:52 PM »

I just punched up my new Bank Roll and gave it some shots on a light to medium THS (I know… wrong condition ), and I wanted to share my first impressions. A full review will follow as soon as I found enough oil to keep this beast on the lanes.

My Bank Roll arrived with a 4-4.5” Pin with 3 1/8 oz. top weight. I drilled it 55 X 5” X 30. This placed the Pin about an inch above my ring finger and he MB right next to the thumb hole on the right. A weight hole wasn’t necessary. I also added a nice coat of Black Magic to the surface right out of the box.

What I was looking for in this ball, was more skid than my original Bank with a sharper breakpoint but just as strong overall.

All I can say for now is “Mission Accomplished!”

On the light to medium THS I just bowled on, the ball got clean through the heads, had a impressive midlane read, but had more than enough energy to unleash in the back end with a strong arc to flip reaction. Needles to say, that on this condition the ball hooked 5 to 7 feet too soon and even the deepest lines and weakest hand positions were not enough to create enough length on this pattern.

Next week I am going to bowl on some sport patterns and on a medium to heavy THS, to see what this ball does on the conditions it was meant for.

I had a Bank which pretty much did the same thing. Very straight and it would hook a few boards on the end. With polish it wouldn't hook at all. I was going to get a Bank Roll for more backend but decided I didn't want to take another chance.

Got it on the Determinator. Mass Bias was right on....Time to plug and re-drill I guess...

I would get ahold of "eric t" before plugging and redrilling.. he might want the ball back and he will probably replace it.. if you plug and redrill before talking to him it might be harder for him to justify getting you a new ball..
