Thanks to Eric @ 900G for remembering me at Christmas or for my birthday since they are a week apart, I was fortunate to be on the receiving end of his good nature, finding a new Train on my door step.

 

The color combo is reminiscent of a ball we saw in the early years of Global, it bears a striking resemblance to the Creature Pearl without polish, that is where the similarities end. The Train has a new high energy, Combustion, symmetric core,  2.50 - .054 core, encased in a nEat finished S-76 hybrid cover with a 60/40 blend.  

 

Gross weight 15lb 4 oz, 2-1/4" pin.

I drilled the Train with a 2-1/4" pin, 4-1/4 x 4-1/4, pin down., no balance hole was required, this left the ball with 1/2 oz finger weight, 3/4 oz side weight, with 1 oz top weight.

 

The Train is drilled close to my Bank Roll, even the statics were remarkably close. The Train is by no means a light oil ball, it will not do well on short patterns unless surface changes are made. The Train was clean up front, read the mids well with a strong predictable motion down lane. Compared to the Bank Roll, it has more length, reads as well as the Bank Roll in the mids, but produces more on back end. It covered more boards, had more hook and continuation than the Bank Roll. It was designed to handle higher volumes of oil and it does it in an impressive manner. Being a high performance ball with a high friction cover a fresh shot is going to be needed to keep the Train on the tracks, if you are thinking about a 2nd shift ball medium oil with no touch up between leagues don't be surprised when the Train runs off the tracks, too strong a ball to be played in the track area, go left way left or surface management will be needed.

used it agin last night, the further left I went the stronger reaction I saw.

Threw mine tonight for the first time in league. Drilled it 70*x 5"x 30* pin above the ring. I started the night standing on 25 14 at the arrows out to 7. Not a great look and struggled to a 194 (chopped a spare and whiffed a single pin spare so should have been a 216 game. I didn't throw the ball well, but I think it was partially because I didn't trust the ball. Moved in 4 and 3 the 2nd game and shot a 213 with an inconsistent ball reaction. I didn't have a bad reaction with it, I feel at OOB surface it would be great on sport for me just not what I want to see on a THS.  I definitely feel a surface adjustment is going to be needed. I think I am gonna try 4000 abralon for Tuesday and see what that yields....Will give a full review once I get more games on it.
