Going to grab a Hook hybrid soon, and am trying to make it fit at this house near me. The pattern is kind of short (37 feet at best) with all the free hook you could want outside of 8. Only ball that seems to work without really opening up my angles is my Link. My big heist gets down the lane, but is super strong off the spot. I was thinking maybe a hook drilled weak, or maybe even a Rico drill would help me. By weak, I'm talking like 70x5.5x40.

Anyone drill their Hook weak?

I was thinking 60x2x60 and my pap is 4 3/4 by 1/2 up. Also, can't drill the thumb deeper because I use IT.

Surface dictates length and on any pattern it's all about how the ball comes off the spot or responds to the friction as well as slows down. So if you are going to leave out of the box for starters, which should allow you to square up to the pattern through the fronts...I would go with a 5-5 1/2" to PAP pin up which will help you keep it straighter and use a weight hole 2 1/2" down your VAL to help slow the ball down as it comes out of the oil. It will help have a slower response to the friction so it doesn't go sideways. If it is still somewhat too strong or angular, then I would knock the surface down...slowly so you get it to react where you want.
