Not as familiar with Global stuff as msny if you guys, but the after dark solid is unique among dry lane balls for me.  Part is that I match up well with the tall cores,  but that surface really matches up to give me a great back end reaction without a lot if side ways movement.  Heavy roll while staying behind the ball at release.

I have an After Dark Solid as well. My only regret is I should have laid it out pin down with a weaker VAL angle/pin buffer. I've never had a lot of success with super high pin positions but this one is essentially on the center line above the bridge with a 1" pin buffer. I believe 65x5"x25 for dual angle. 

Some have compared it to the Storm Hustle Ink which I also thought was a great ball, had one before switching 16 to 15lbs. Hard to compare reaction differences as that one was pin down.

I'm eager to give the After Dark Pearl a go around. 
 

With those core numbers 5*25 isn't a good idea. You need to either go stronger flaring pin placement and small angle, or lower flaring pin placement and bigger angle.

I echo a lot of the sentiments here. The Boost was stronger than advertised. My Bubblegum boost can handle a bit more oil, and hooks a lot more, than even my X2. I was surprised. It created overlap with pieces I liked more, so I wound up getting rid of my Bubble Gum boost.

I recently got an After Dark Solid with a pin-in-palm layout...that thing gets down lane very easily. I'll be getting the ADP at some point, and going with a pretty aggressive layout. These are two great pieces that no other companies really have - very mild resin with a smooth core. I'd love to see this core on a stronger cover, to be honest.

If you look at the AD core, it's basically a modified Sure thing core. Much higher RG, bit lower diff.

I used both of my After Darks drilled the same on our THS which has a bunch of friction starting in the midlane. Both of these balls were great all night. What I was wanting was something to not push super long and change directions quickly or something to roll midlane and go left. These two easily accomplished this need. Yes I had some recovery room due to the friction downlane however, that is not my goal when throwing these two on that shot. Where these shine is allowing me to play more direct and closer to the dry with a smoother response on the backend. I can easily play a much tighter line closer to the headpin without any overreaction on the backend. These balls will show you that you do not need to open your angles to carry and score. I'm pretty impressed for a entry level reactive. These are definitely something our line has been lacking in years past.

The stronger pin seems to just make them more round in shape down lane, but because of the lower diff, it's negligible.
