Hey guys,

My uncle just received his Train. But it only has a 1/2" or less pin! wtf! What kind of layout suggestions do you have for this ball without killing it? He needs all the strength this ball has. I dont have all of his tech. data, but he has medium track, 15mph speed at the pins, low rev stroker, speed dominate.

My driller says the only way would be to put the pin and cg in the palm, but that would weaken the ball?

Sounds like a 2'nd to me.I'd send it back. I don't know what it is about 900 global but every time I've had my pro shop order a ball from them I say I want a 3-4 inch pin so I can drill it pin up and they send a 1-2 inch pin. On several occasions I just said forget it.

I'd contact Eric and the boys at 900 Global. They're top notch, and sure to help you out in some way. Depending on the top weight, you may be able to go below the ring finger, just depends on specs of the ball and bowler. The ball itself is a ridiculous monster on the lanes. When he gets it, tell him to shoe up, and hang on for a train ride of your life.

U can do more than pin in the palm with a short pin. Just the higher u put the pin the deeper the fingers need to be drilled. A pin down around 4" from the axis should be pretty strong. I wouldn't mess with a shorter pin to axis than that unless he is high tilt and high rotation....

thanks for the suggestions. he drilled it up today. went 4.5" pin to pap. which put his ring finger above the pin, no hole. this ball is awesome for him. gave him miss room right which he doesnt normally have and hit the pocket harder than anything i have seen him throw. only 1 solid 10 pin all night! he loves it! makes me want one now

The ball is very good. I don't quite have enough games on it yet to give a full review but I am starting to really like this one. It usually takes a few weeks for me to get a good feel on a ball but this one might be the best one out of SA in a while...
