The Eagle Pearl
       DRILLED THE BALL PIN IN THE RING FINGER WITH 4 1/2 PIN TO PAP FOR MORE LENGHT. BALL IS VERY SMOOTH THROUGH THE HEADS,PICKS UP GREAT ROLL MIDLANE WITH VERY HARD HIT IN THE POCKET. THIS COULD BE THE BEST EAGLE TO DATE. THIS BALL DOES NEED OIL,MED-MED HEAVY WILL DO THE TRICK.

If your Eagle is a medium oil ball at best, you must be very speed dominant.

Are we talking about the Black Eagle or the New Eagle Pearl?  I do agreed that the New Eagle Pearl is good for Medium and the Black Eagle is good for Heavy.

given the same cover prep I've found my Black Eagle to be weaker then my Bank,point break pearl,plague and my back lash. I do like the ball for short oil though. if I pick up the pearl and find it to be stronger I would be shocked.
or maybe what I consider medium everyone else considers heavy oil?

The Black Eagle is much stronger than a Backlash or Plague, and several boards stronger than a Break Point Pearl.  At its box finish (NEAT - 4,000) it should backend more than the Bank, which should hook more overall but earlier on the lane.

the Black Eagle Pearl isn't designed to be a heavy oil ball, 900 Global lists it in the medium-heavy category. With the S70 Pearl cover, it falls more into the medium category unless you have slow ball speed and/or surface.

the original Black Eagle is also in the medium-heavy category, but depending on the bowler and layout, it will fall more into the medium category if the bowler has higher ball speed/low rev rate or if the layout dictates a more delayed reaction without changing the surface.

Every ball does not move the same from the factory, you dont know if the ball you got was finished with a new pad or was finished when the pad was almost done. If you've thrown a lot of games on a ball and its not moving like it used to, it's probably time to de-oil and resurface.
