Break Pearl quick impressions
« on: February 01, 2008, 09:32:16 AM »
I got a chance to go and throw mine today.  The layout is 5 x 3 with the pin below bridge and the MB just past my VAL.  No x-hole.  Left it OOB for now.

First off, this ball is incredibly sharp looking.  I threw it alongside my Break solid that is drilled almost identical and my Cell.  The lanes seemed to be very wet/dry.  I could keep both the Cell and Break inside the oil line from a bit deeper and still strike.  The pearl needed the dryer outside boards to make the move.  It is very clean through the heads and midlane, but when it hits dry watch out.  If I played where I was with the Break, I really had a bad look.  It read the dry way too violently, and the inside oil caused it to squirt.  The solution was to make a huge jump left to use the oil to get it downlane until it could react on the dry outsides.  I was at 20 at the arrows with a breakpoint around 5 and striking at will.  As long as I was firm and made sure to feed it into the dry outside, it came roaring back.  Tugs resulted in 2-10 combos.

I don't see myself using it too much on the fresh THS around here.  It will be ideal when the Cell and Breaks start burning up early.  I'll be able to move way inside of the track area and use the burn as bump.  It was exactly what I needed in my arsenal.

Seems like another good ball by 900. My dad has the creature and the break, he got the breake yesterday.
How do you think the pearl will react if you sand it to 1500-2000grit without polish?
