Break Point trouble...

I'm really not happy with my Break Point.  It just doesn't compare to my original Break series balls.

I recognize that the Break Point has a higher RG than my Break, Break Pearl, and Break S-75 so part of it might be that the Break Point just doesn't rev up as much.  

The surface is 4000 abralon...I don't recall what the layout is, but you can check it out here.

Any suggestions as to how I might adjust the coverstock or change the layout to get the angularity and move that I had hoped for?  

(Yeah, I know it would help if I bowled better...I know I suck, you don't have to tell me.)

i dont know what your expecting... looks pretty angular to me.

maybe just use one of the 100 balls ive seen you review instead LOL JK

I remember watching this video thinking that this was one of the more angular balls I have seen you throw. I think that the only way you could have got a touch more angularity is by moving the MB to PAP to 4 or 5".

where's the x-hole located at?

on edit:  nevermind, saw the vid and where the cg is located.  and depending
on top weight, looks to me like the x-hole wouldve been "hopefully" on your
pap and not in a flare decreasing position.

Maybe I'm crazy, but the ball just seems to chug off the breakpoint...almost like it's laboring to make the turn.  I'm pretty sure it's not burning out. (I almost never have that problem...just call me Mr. LowRevs.)

actually IMO nothing will burn out on you due to your release. but the low revs does help

Im betting that you dont see much difference between balls unless they are drastically stronger then one another.

I have both the Break Solid and the BP and don't see a difference in reaction shape between the 2 of them. They both have the same layout but the BP needs more oil to get that reaction. On a slightly less volume the BP reads much earlier due to the stronger cover. A smaller angle to the VAL will increase the angularity.  I have a couple of low rev guys I drill for that we use 20-30 degree angles to help the backend.

A ball will never be to angular when you don't swing it a ton. to see the angularity you need to see a change from left to right and how fast that occurs.  But you throw it pretty much straight up the boards so there is not left to right only right.

To be honest with you if you drop it that much your fit sucks azz, how can you properly throw the ball with a horrible fit???

Get the fit done right and you will pick up revs and continuation, i was wondering who that average bowler guy was and now I know it is you.

You do review a million balls, I was in that mode for years and now cannot blow money left and right. Guess what?? my average is up 9 pins a game since using the same things all year long.

Your not that bad I see alot worse weekly, you try to post your shot to much somebody must have ingrained that BS in your head.

From looking at your Break series video and this one the only ball that looks more angular is the Break Pearl.  All of them look pretty close in reaction but the pearl is a bit longer so it gives the appearance of angularity.

I think what you are noticing is the color scheme and the RG being a tad higher.  The ball does appear to not rev as much, but the move off the spot looks comparable.  I too get hung up on what a ball looks like going down the lane, sometimes you just have to look at the reaction and not the revs and the color scheme.

Polish should make it more angular.  You'll probably have to bring the surface down first so that it doesn't go too long.  You could also drill one with a longer MB to PAP, that usually translates into angularity for me.

Are you sure you shouldnt just save it for more oil?
