Cool, looking forward to picking up one of these once released! I see they went with a much stronger hybrid cover than the Train and gave it an A finish over the E found on the Train and the Freight Train. I think I guessed right when I figured the next release would be called the Bullet Train! lol

Looks like they might have removed the block that they added to the Freight Train to lower the diff?

I'm surprised that there is no energy block on this core. Intended to be smoother vs. flippy? The ball looks ultra rolly in the midlane. Any idea on the release date?

9 January '13 release date. Didn't see anytihng on the ball page for it, but accidentally moved my mouse over the ad on the home page and a tool tip came up with the release date. Answered my own question.

It does appear they weakened the core a bit being that it's listed having a lower flare potential of 4-5" which is more to the medium side compared to most of today's high performance balls. The last time 900 Global went with a strong cover and weaker core was the Cobra SE and look how successful that ball was. On a lighter note, anyone besides me wonder why 900 Global doesn't have a lefty ball tester in their ball reaction videos? Just my observation...being left-handed! lol

Seems a little to close to the original train? A little longer with slightly stronger cover?  Seems this could be accomplished with layouts and surface on the original.

Eric, we need to more. How about a comparison video of all three Trains. Same drill, box finish to show the differences.....9

+1 I'd like to see a video of all three Trains along side each other...maybe the next Train will be an aggressive pearl using the Freight Train's combustion core + energy block. We'll have to wait and see! Either way the Bullet should be another great release.

I was finally able to throw my Bullet Train last night.  It was drilled pin under ring finger and kicked out a little bit, weight hole next to my thumb.  Added polish to the OOB surface to get it to go a little longer.

The ball actually performed better on the Chameleon pattern in my PBA League than it did on the first shift house shot.  Even with the polish I think it was burning up to early on the THS.  On the Chameleon it had a nice strong down lane move but not a skid snap.  If that makes sense.

So far I like it better than my Train and Freight Train.

How did you lay your Dirty Look out? I have one sitting at the shop that I plan on punching up next week.

First I will tell you I am a lefty.

Pin just below my ring finger with CG kicked out the left.

                                X  X
                               0
                             0   X

All I can say is very, very easy length. With good back end pop. Not a hook monster but good back end move. This ball lets me play straighter and will get through the heads with ease.

I too am a lefty so we share this gift in common lol. I drilled up my Freight Train like your Dirty Look just with a weight hole added. It's my oiler/tournament ball so I've been toying with the idea of putting the pin above the bridge but since the ball has very easy length it may skid too long so I may go pin to the left of my ring or pin over ring. I will let you know when I punch it up next week.

Sevenpin,

Like it more than your Frantic?

Drilled my bullet train on Thursday. Threw it in the only league it would have a chance in. Went with 75 x 5.25 x 75. Put the pin under my middle finger and put a coat of polish by hand on it. Rolled great game one and struck every shot that i the it good. Had one shot bad timing and missed it and threw it out the window. Then missed a move and left a 6 pin went 256. Then i got pulled for lucky digit and had to get a 7 count and win a grand. And after that i was a little too pumped and lost my speed. Should have put it away as they transitioned cause it wasburning up in the front part of the lane and if i didn't really get around it i was leaving a variation of a bucket. I an considering polishing it but might just leave it and put it away as soon as its time to move. This cover is super strong as that layout is very low flare and it still uses a lot of energy in the front if the lane. I'll probably only be able to throw it in that league or tournaments but if i get more chances to throw it I'll give a full review...

Sevenpin,

Like it more than your Frantic?

Oh YES a lot more than the Frantic, the ball works great. It has that backend pop I was looking for without it having to hook the whole lane.
Easy length with good backend movement.

Just a head's up we'll be reviewing this ball very soon.
We'll have 3 staff testers, stroker, tweener, and cranker test on THS and sport shot.  We also use Digitrax so should give us good details.
We don't see very much 900 Global around our parts but looking forward to seeing what the Bullet Train does.
