Hey everyone, I just got my Creature solid and was wondering if drilling it pin above ring or pin below ring would give it more backend? Any help is much appreciated, thanks for looking!

its generally accepted that pin over creates more length, thus saving more energy for the back, thus more backend. what kind of reaction and shape you'll get is dependent on your style and the pin-PAP distance, along with MB placement if it's asymmetric.

Unless your release promotes a lot of backend, I'd put the pin above. This ball is so even, I put the pin below and kicked the CG out a little. Turned out to be the kiss of death. I wouldn't recommend kicking the CG out at all, on this ball. A nice 4x4 or 4.5"x4.5", with the pin about 3" above the midline should work just fine, depending on all the other usual factors.

you are still going to bring it by the shop though right?

I'll be the first to go against the grain here

Mine is drilled rico (pin in center of grip), and it it the smoothest ball I currently own. This ball bailed me out several times last year when I was fighting over/under conditions with more agressive equipment. Pin under gets my vote

I was thinking the same thing. My Prophecy is drilled pin below ring and gets good length, it's a little earlier then my Second Coming which is pin above bridge. I don't know, i'll ask my driller(possibly new one at Jerry's 300 club)what layout would be better for my style. Thanks for helping everyone.

yes, make sure you bring a ball that is tracked pretty good so he can get your PAP. Then tell him what you are looking for out of the ball and he'll get it done for ya!

Why don't you just shell out a little more money and buy a second exact ball?
One above and one below??? This could get you out of varying lane conditions.
just a thought
I don't have that much money.
