When I first learned about this ball, a person I trust told me it was a solid/pearl combo. Later, when people were posting about their experiences with it, I mentioned that it was a pearl/solid combo and many all but jumped down my throat that it was only "pearlized color", not actually a pearlized coverstock.
Ok, now, after using this ball and having used many, many Super-Flex solids, pearls and half solid/pearl combinations with many different cores, my personal opinion is that this is a solid/pearl combo. Having used it on several oil patterns, several lane surfaces and with several different ocverstock changes from dull (600 grit to 4000 grit) to polished (with several different unlying grit levels), I have no fear in saying no matter what, this ball is for intents and purposes a solid/pearl combo.
Among other situations, in its polished state, it skids too far and handles far too little carrydown to be a true solid SuperFlex. Its behavior in 3000 grit and 4000 grit matte finish does not behave anything like Super-Flex solid. If it is a non-Super-Flex BASF coverstock, which is entirely possible, given its behavior, then that is another story altogether.
Also given the BTM review of the Creature and the Creature Pearl, I was more than surprised by the extremely narrow gap between them, if the Creature was truly an all solid Super-Flex coverstock, no matter how mild the core was.

The add says: "Color - Purple Pearl"

Don't know if that makes it a pearl/solid combo though...

Solid Purple resin with an additive called aflair...a sparkle type particle (not like a particle ball) that aids in appearence only.

Whatever it is, I really like it.
The Creature has quickly become one of my all-time favorite balls.
It works VERY well on a medium THS.
Maybe it's the sparkles

At least one other Columbia300 ball had Aflair/Afflair additive. I thought it was the Surge, but I could be mistaken.
Still, this ball does not act, for me, like a SF solid.

I love this ball also. It is a 3rd game THS monster.

A half ten is not a great shot. No, you shouldn't have carried it.

I concur that it was the most "pearly" reacting solid that I have ever thrown.
Next question, is it truly a Super-Flex cover???? Or an offspring of the original???
