So I’m getting into a sport shot league and have been needing a big solid assym, a hook monster of sorts, to add to my arsenal. But I’ve been having a hard time selling myself on paying the high price point for something that is so condition specific for me. I’ll never pull it out in league not will I need it on some sport conditions as well

So I’m researching solid assyms, the price point of the honey badger claw is nice for me. Also the DV8 poison. The claw has a higher RG than the DDT but same diff., and ones symmetric and the other is assym. The poison has a higher RG and Diff. than both.

I also have a sanded down to 1500 no rules pearl.

Would the Claw be that much bigger than the DDT or should I bite the bullet and get a high price pointed oil monster?

Trick is a inverted light bulb weight block, very nice rolling. Claw cover is probably slightly stronger, but the motion of the Claw weight block is what is going to separate them. Of course I'm going to say the Claw over the Trick, but not because I'm obligated to. The Claw has been nothing but impressive in everyone's hands.

I’m just nervous, I don’t wanna spend money on something that ends up being too similar. My no rules pearl being sanded has been helpful for me, it covers more boards than my DDT but the breakpoint, even sanded down to 1500 is still to late of a ball reaction for me on certain patterns.

I’m pretty speed dominant so I already don’t see huge differences in ball reactions anyways.

I’m thinking though that whatever I do get, will be a pin down. Everything else I have is pin ip

I don’t know that the Claw, a high RG ball, would be the best choice for you. Might tumble a bit too long. You might like the PhysiX a bit more.

I was trying to avoid going up to that range if possible. If I did it’d be for the crux prime though.

Truth Tour is going to be lots of cover, but very smooth, almost urethane like. I'd go 45*4*65 on the Claw and adjust the surface to your desired breakpoint.

So what I’ve decided is it’ll probably be the claw, although dv8 poison isn’t out of the question. Unless I can find a good deal on a used ball.

I get $300 for bowling stuff from this tax return. I’ve got to re-pitch 3 thumb which will run me $30. So if I were able to get my hands on a used ball, I think I’d also pick up either a fever pitch or something for short patterns

Being speed dominate Asym's can be your friend. In the 900, storm, roto family your best option is probably the claw; mid tier Asyms are really lacking on this side of the fence. Other option might be a Black Ops sanded or a Code X, buddies pro shop has them for $124 right now.

I appreciate 900's Badger and Ops series for this reason; asym's without the crazy price tag.
