Thinking of a break out

Im thinking of getting one to replace my magic action. My magic action is layed out 4 X 3 1/2 with a weight hole past my axis six inchs straight over. It is at 1000 grit abralon and the pin is shifted an inch up an extra inch. Its not that I don't like this ball but it seems that when I get on any sort of higher volume of oil this ball seems dead. I understand it is probly drilled to strong and the weight hole past the axis increased my flare. If I drill one of these for heavier oil should I put the mass bias closer to 4 or 4 1/2 inchs away from my pap to make it start flaring a little later and maybe put the weight hole on my pap to decrease the flare so it doesn't die? Should I move the pin? All of the above? Any help would be helpful. I am set on getting this ball just not sure how to drill it.

Words of advise. Limiting your self to just one company is never smart. Get proven balls out on the market. Global, Storm inc, Ebonite international, er what ever it may be.

Hey Olathe East Boy,

If you're able to bowl on the condition you're trying to drill a ball up for, then I would say put a piece of white tape on your PAP and see where your M Action is changing it's phase from Skid to Hook.

If the white tape is maintaining AXIS rotation down the lane, then the ball isn't reading the condition soon enough.  

If it's losing AXIS rotation shortly after it comes off your hand, then the ball is reading the condition too soon and it's progressing through it's phases too fast that it hooks out before it gets to the pocket.

Based on that analysis, you can determine what layout may work better for you.  Have you modified the surface on your M Action?  I would tweak that a little too.

Let me know what comes about and I'll be happy to help lay this ball out for you.  I have two I took to Nationals and had a lot of success, one pin down and one pin up and both roll extremely well.

When I get back to Kansas I will definitely do that. I'm just pulling into reno. I have had this one at 1000, 2000 and 4000

Not an expert on comparing the Break Out to a particular other ball, but not sure if anyone would go wrong with having one in the bag. Great piece and very versatile. Used it sanded and polished at Nationals and have it polished for house conditions. I can get a nice arc or change had positions and get a strong move on the backends. Love this one.
