This may be a no filler/all coverstock ball. Would explain the big differences in numbers between the weights.

This ball is going to get a lot of people to switch brands. I love my EBI stuff right now, but anything Gold & pearlized makes for an awesome "look" on the lanes.

True, but unfortunately, as much as that may make the 16 and 15 lb. versions desirable, it still leaves the 14 lb as the sad, ugly sister. If the 15 & 16 handle medium oil, those numbers make it seem like the 14 is a light oil ball.

Understood. I didn't look closely at the numbers that late at night. I was trying to find which AMF ball used that core.

I don't understand how you can say this. what diff does the core numbers make between what type of cover it has?

The Clutch Pearl had a lower RG and higher diff than the Solid Clutch, along with a stronger cover.

 Check out the rg and diff for the scout and tell me it was a good, all around versatile ball.

 Im not trying to pick a fight, but I know what the numbers mean. At the 14lb level, the HB is going to go pretty/really long, not flare a whole lot, and be a lighter condition ball, even when the surface is at a matte finish.

 Now, it may be GREAT at what it is intended to be, but I am inclined to believe it would be easier to make it a dart than a boomerang, especially with those weak core specs (at 14lbs).

probably not but my 14 lb. Venus has been a very pleasant surprise. I've been able to cover ten pins,roll straight up the track or crank it deep inside with good results. sometimes you just don't know what these balls will do.
I have a pin down GB2 that despite what finish is on it it just wants to boomerang,polish it and it's a dart.

Oh, It is/was. I bought one for my friend because his DT Threshold (same core & cover, I thought; turned out the cover was different) was so worn from use. The Clutch, with the same drilling was at least 5 full boards stronger overall, with possibly 3 more boards at the backend.

My friend's 16 lb. Clutch was almost skid/flip and NO ball he has ever owned and thrown can skid/flip: he has too much ball speed and not enough revs, a down and in player, almost exclusively. 3rd arrow is nose bleed territory for him.
