inverted core?

i saw a bounty hunter with an "inverted core" and on the ball is ingraved display only. but it had great specs. what would happen if i drilled it?

does it have a USBC approval & serial number? If so I would think it was legal, if not anything you bowl in a sanctioned event league or otherwise could lead to all scores and wins being disqualified.

it has everything a normal ball does just an inverted core and a display only stamp on it it has beautiful specs 3-4 pin and 5 oz top

I would assume that with certain layouts it won't make a difference but I would think with others it would.. I would think that it might make the ball smoother and not as flippy.. but this ball isn't flippy anyway though..
I say this cause with alot of old school balls with an added "flip cap" they put this at the not of the core.. so if you put it at the bottom I would think it would take that flip away.. most cores tend to have more mass at the top half of the core...
maybe roll like a negative drilled ball.

i want to drill it but i dont want to drill a dud will it make a strong ball into a plastic ball with the core inverted? and i dont want to drill an illegal ball

well unless you are headed to major tourneys possibly out of your area, as in Nationals or something of the sort, I would say it will not matter at all because no one ever checks this stuff anyhow.....................................

every one of my balls started with at least 4oz i love high top weight seems to make the ball stronger and they dont have crater sized wieght holes

Couple of things...
It cant say inverted core.  We dont make a label that says that.
We dont advise drilling it, if we did it wouldnt say for display only.  These display balls do not carry a warranty and are given away to shops to put on the shelf, not to drill or sell.

Inverted core wouldn't mean anything anyways if you have ever had a ball with a 7" plus pin and flip the ball and mark the cg on the other side and drill it. It is where the ball would be in about half a revolution anyways.

Most of the display only balls I've seen have 7+ ozs top weight. But I don't work for the company so I would go with whatever he says.
