Title: Look not working for me
Post by: kong1 on October 05, 2012, 06:45:41 AM
I have a Look which is drilled pin up and mb kicked out. I think it is about 4.5 x 4. The only time I have had this ball work at all is on fresh oil down and in. After the lanes start to carry down I can't seem to get this ball to do much. Even when I try slowing it down it goes very straight in the oil. I haven't tried it dull yet but I think I will try it at 2000 to see if it helps.

What types of conditions are you seeing?

The lanes start out fresh and I can pretty much go up the boards from outside. This shot will last about 1 game and the heads start to go and the carry down begins. I will also mention that anything thrown inside about 12 will not hook 2 boards. So if I stay right the ball hooks early and if I move inside it goes straight. A lot of over under. Even if I try to stay a little right and keep it right of the oil it either dives or goes straight. And if I go even father right like 7 or 8 out to 4 or 5 the ball will come in late and leave something like a 2,8,10. It seems like anything from the right will hit the carry down and not turn over.

2000 might be good to try out to hopefully get rid of the over/under.

I remember having a similar issue with a VG Nano that I had for a while.  4000 was over/under and then 2000 did help a bit.  But, eventually I sold it.  I just didn't match up that well with the Shape-Lock HD core and NRG cover.

sounds like you're having an over/under look, I had the same thing with my Rogue Cell drilled very similarly until I had an X-hole placed on it to get it to start up earlier.

If changing surface doesnt work for you, you should consider adding an x-hole to get it to start up sooner

+1 with SVStar.

The ball will need friction on the backend to be fully effective. So in order to maximize that, i would first add surface because thats the cheapest option, start with 1000 and work your way to a coarser surface, then if you're still not getting a good look i would measure for a hole.  Also sounds like you could use a freight train or a black eagle to smooth out the pattern. The Look is a great ball for the fresh but as i mentioned above, will need friction.

i had the same issue with mine
so in practice i just rubbed it down with a scotch brite
saw a big difference , so we put it on the spinner and hit it with a fresh 4000
ab pad and thats did it for me
2000  should work fine
they say it has a T pad finish but at what speed is it finished

Thanks for the info. I'll give 2000 a try and see how that works.

I'm not really sure on my rev rate. I'm a tweeter with average speed and don't have a lot of tilt.
