Bounty Hunter or Mutant Cell ??
« on: December 10, 2009, 09:39:25 AM »
I was trying to decide what bowlingball to get? I'm torn between the Bounty Hunter or the Mutant Cell. I bought the Rogue Cell, but after about 30 games it has not been the same. It started to shine up after about 3-6 games. I wipe it off before every shot, and clean it before I put it up. I've tried to resurface it, but no luck. Will the Bounty Hunter shine up quickly? Any help would be appreciated.

Don't know what you clean it with, but if you're using the Rogue on a lot of oil, use Clean and Dull.

The Rogue uses the same coverstock as the Mutant. It's just a solid pearl combo, whereas the Mutant is all solid. If the Rogue shines up, the Mutant surely will. You just need a deeper, stronegr cleaner.

If you use a solid reactive ball on oil, its going to lane shine some. Thats going to happen with any ball. I have had all the Cell's including the Mutant and also a Bounty Hunter and all of them have lane shined to some degree. I use clean and dull after each set on my solid's and every 20 or games hit it with a 1000 abralon and have not had any issues.

on the rouge cell..  i usually hit it with 500 abralon and then 4000 abralon with less hand pressure..  if you have a spinner..  and its work great...

My Rogue Cell shined up after some games also, didnt like that fact so I got
rid of it.  My Bounty Hunter I have come to love of late.  Currently at 4000 Abralon and a good coat of Snake Oil.  660, 716, 715 and a 999 four game set last night.  Ball is a very strong HEAVY oil ball.  I dont see much, except for some tourneys, but I wanted to throw it more often.  They only way was to throw
a bunch of polish on it.  seems to have worked  It didnt seem to shine up a
whole lot in factory condition....

on edit:

The Mutant Cell doesnt even compare to the Bounty Hunter

With the Bounty Hunter having some particle in it, it will defiantly pick up early, i have seen both in action and have thrown them both myself for a few shots, the Bounty Hunter is earlier and smoother where the Mutant is more length and flip, both will make great heavy oil balls and you wont go wrong with one or the other, if it was me, the Mutant looks to be a tad stronger but thats splitting hairs

Thanks for all the information, but I'm still on the fence. I would really like to hear from more who have both or thrown both. Maybe my wife will be sweet and get me one or the other for Christmas.

I watched a friend of mine that thrown both the BH and the MC (very similar layouts), when i ask for a comparison he said that the Mutant was longer and more angular at the break point where the BH was earlyer and smoother, the overall hook was about the same.
