I'm looking into buying this ball. Has anyone had some experience with it? Where can I find reviews or maybe a video?

I really don't care what the guy above me says, first thing is its your money spend it how you want and what you want it on!! Just my .02

Now I have the mark roth ball drilled with the mark roth layout, the ball is ok at best on a fresh med shot but man once I get some carry down this ball is a monster!!

This is the second time I've seen this kid get trashed in a post where he was simply asking a question. What's up? Did I miss a bunch of posts where he spammed the forum or did something else stupid? When did it become our jobs to tell somebody they shouldn't be buying bowling balls? If he wants to buy a ball, let him buy a ball. Sure, coaching is probably a better investment than a bunch of new gear, but that's a decision this kid will have to make for himself at some point. If he decides to seek coaching, good for him. That will put him ahead of 99% of the bowlers he'll encounter on these boards and on the lanes. If he doesn't, oh well. Again, it's one thing to offer somebody friendly advice. It's quite another to flamethrow a kid for asking a simple question that countless posters ask on here every day. Some of you guys need to get over yourselves or at least learn a little bit of tact in regard to how you offer advice.

The manner in which it''s been expressed is wrong, but people are putting their thoughts in the right place.

The kids got ability, his numbers prove that, but if he really wants to make things roll better, his best option is to find a good coach to calm down his arm, and his leg, as well as to smooth out some other rough edges. 10 years like he throws currently, and he''ll be lucky if he hasn''t gotten tendonitis in his arm, and pains in his knee.

That's all well and good, Matt. I'm not saying I disagree with the notion that his money (or that of his parents) would be better spent on quality instruction. Hell, I think that would be the case with 99% of us out there. Still, some people have come on here in a very rude manner to criticize the kid's form and the fact that he's interested in new gear, and I think they're doing it because they look at him as a young, punk kid. What makes him different than the 20-30-40-50 something bowlers with bad form and little knowledge who come on here every day and ask "which ball should I add to my arsenal?" Again, had he acted foolishly or something to initiate things, then I could understand why people are quick to jump all over him and be negative, but if that's happened, I haven't seen it. If you want to give the kid some friendly advice because you think it will help him in the long run, that's great, more power to you. But to jump all over him, bash his style and basically tell him he's stupid for spending money on gear is awfully hypocritical because most people on this site have just as many fundamental flaws and need just as much if not more coaching than he does.

I believe Phil had said the Villian was the 44 mag with the pearl part of the blend removed .
But the Mark Roth ball appears to have some pearl in it, so maybe its a closer reproduction of the 44 mag

Beautiful ball, hybrid black solid with blue pearl swirls, orange scripts, love the colors. Drilled the ball and used it last night, drilled Rico (pin in palm w/ cg at 45*, hole 5 1/4 " down the 45* line, 3/4 x 1 1/2" to get a little of the + thumb weight out) This ball is smooth and very easy to use. The ball clears the heads with ease, picks up a smooth arcing heavy roll and really hits hard...Moves were very predicable. The only problem I had was in the last game I 4-6'ed twice on what looked like good shots,...the ball reads the mid-lane track really good, and jumped early, no problem with that simple adjustment next time, and a little less hesitant when moving...I really like this one. jim.

I've been throwing it as of last week. Looks very cool! The Low Rg makes it very smooth and arcy through the mids, and the high polish hybrid finish gives it a very nice pop off the friction on entry. Nice control peice, holds inside without over reacting and can come back from those missed shots to the right if the speed isnt too fast. I'm sure if you add some surface too it, it would be even stronger upfront much like the lunatic.

ultimately, its a great THS ball for anyone from entry performance to control peice for the tournament bowler.

I guess I should have clarified that i have only used in on THS so far. Fresh and Burnt.

Yeah your absolutely right, the condition is going to determine what the ball is going to do. Benchmark type balls cater to this THS condition right? Smooth transition through the mid part of the lane into the fricition area on the backend. Smooth Arc shape with a strong finish???

When i miss right early with my Break Point It goes face, When I miss inside with my break point it goes left.......guess its the condition.

I did try to compare the ball to other reaction in the line, i guess i didnt clarify that enough. Does not read as early as my lunatic does.... Goes longer but give the same overal smooth arc shape as my lunatic unlike the sharp angular motion that my Break Point gives with the same amount of distance down the lane...

Overall, the ball is tame compared to the bounty hunter or break series, but stronger than the Link series....that should help to find a fit i think?

Well after having the chance to use this ball last night this ball fits the line very well. I see it right under the Break line and a bit stronger than the Lunatic. Perfect fit for the line and done for a pioneer of our sport.

Jim's review is spot on.

close to the reaction of the villain, maybe a tad stronger downlane with the different factory finish/hybrid cover. Smooth and arcy ball thats great on THS.
