Middle of the road

Bowling a holiday no tap on middle of the road and was wondering how this pattern typically plays and what type of balls and surfaces play best. PAP 4 7/8 over 1/4 up , 18 mph with 450 revs.

Well, it's 39 feet with a low volume. I would use something like an Ordnance solid to start out and when that ball gets too slow downlane, move left with something faster, like a Honey Badger.

Kegel Middle Road plays like an easier sport pattern. You can play multiple angles depending on the lane surface and your personal preference. The pattern does play a little touchy and there is not a ton of miss room on the fresh. This pattern CAN be very easy if broken down nicely by other bowlers. Unlike some stupid house conditions, you actually have to hit a mark (or at least come close).

Fresh will be whatever it is, and transition might be mucky if players don't know what to do. I can safely say, on most any medium length pattern, a pearl asymmetric ball will be what you end the block with. Those balls blend left/right and front/back so well, and once a pattern opens up, it's game time.
