Drilled up a Chemical X and a Respect over the past week. Only have a little lane time with the X. The cover comes dull... The actual texture reminds me of the AMF Darkness. Not sure whether it is an "additive" or particle, or just my imagination. Have thrown it only a few games, but initial impressions are early rolling and smooth on the back end. Stronger than I expected, simply based on the coverstock rating (S55). I see this as a predictable rolling ball. Should be great on tougher lane conditions and the fresh when backends are flying.
For me, I tend to leave a lot of corner pins when I get a ball that pushes too far down the lane and comes in behind the head pin. Over several games with this ball, I've yet to leave any (knocking on wood, my head, and whatever else is around!).
I'm not a fan of yellow equipment. I generally prefer to stay away from "loud" colors. However, with the slate/black mixed in, it actually doesn't look too bad. Still loud, but maybe tolerable. It stands out on the rack.
I think this balk will struggle during transition, when you are forced deeper and need to play more angle through the heads. I'm not sure it has enough recovery for this type of shot...
Haven't had a chance to throw the Respect yet. Just based on the colors, I like it though. Very sharp and good color combination. Hoping this ball will be my go-to once lanes open up a bit and I can move it..
Will update after some more experience with them.
