Hello Gang
I am thinking about trying out a 900G ball and the one that I have in mind is the "The Break S75"

It seems that the ball is well liked in here and so I thought I would ask a couple of questions here if y'all don't mind

What I am looking for is a ball to use in a fresh-oil league play so I can start throwing the ball out over around the 3rd/4th arrow out to around the 10/8 board.

I did have a Virtual-Gravity but that ball was, at least for me, a hit-n-miss type of reaction. I am currently throwing Storm and LaneMasters/legends which I love but I have been reading so many good things about 900G that I thought I would give her a go!!

people are saying that the "The Break S75" requires a break in period, please explain what this means. Also, between the "The Break S75" and the "Break Point" which is the more powerful ball?

P.S. is Tekneek the man to get the 900G gear from or is there someone else?

Big Jake, I'd agree with Jim that a pin under your ring finger with your PAP is more like 4" from the PAP. With my PAP of 4 5/8" over x 3/8" up, which is not much further than yours, a pin under my ring finger is around 4 1/4".

About the Bounty Hunter vs. Break Point, I'd say the BH is stronger overall because it's covertsock is S79 and the BP's is S73. I bet the BH has the stronger backend too.

I'm gaining interest in 900G at the moment as well. Not that I'm able to get any new balls right now, but I could see me mixing them up with Storm/Roto for a good arsenal. I'm wondering, would a Link be able to work on the driest of the dry or would there be better options for that since it sounds like the Link is better on light to med/light?

You're making assumptions based solely on what is stated to be the strength of the coverstock.

The BH at S79 means it has a stronger coverstock but also means it requires more oil to work properly (depending on bowler's ball speed and rev rate and etc.) than the BP at S73. On less oil, maybe even as much medium-heavy, the BP is designed to have a lot of backend. The BH is designed to handle heavy oil like the Bounty, with a breakpoint more like the BreakPoint.

On less oil, the Bounty Hunter might look more like the Bounty than the Breakpoint. It might even roll out.

It might even roll out on fresh backends, or if the oil is too short, balls with a lot of 'horsepower' can be tempermental, you gotta know when to roll them, and know when to fold them,...
