Haven't purchased a 900 Global ball since the NEAT system was started. How about lowering the price of the NEAT pads or scrapping this gimmick.

Balls with the NEAT finishes have worked well for me so far. I just bought a couple of NEAT pads to see how they work. If they last a lot longer than Abralon it may be worth it but I bowl a lot and change surfaces a lot.
I do wish they were withing a dollar of Abralon instead of 3 dollars.

Not to mention you don't have to use the NEAT pads on the ball after you purchase it. If you want to change the surface you can still use the other types of pads.
The core and cover combinations on the Nuts Pearl and the Train are enough to warrant purchasing them.

Couldn't agree more with this part of this post. Honestly just keep bitching about the NEAT Pad technology it's ok the rest of us will reap the rewards of a better pad. Good luck...

Well, abralon is pretty awesome. Not having gotten my hands on any neat pads, i think the idea is awesome. More uniform sanding, longer lasting, and gives it a great look. As more people buy, I'm sure the price will drop. Simple as that. Still can't believe that my nuts pearl is 4000. Looks hella shiny to me!

I have tried the neat pads and like them. I think the surface of the ball looks much better I just hope they last longer like they say they will. It does seem that abralon pads do wear out quickly, especially the finer grits.

TheGame300 and I bowl in a league together. He know's I carry 3 900Global balls in my arsenal. I'm just not buying this idea of a better sanding pad at 3x's the cost. I don't see anyone bowling better with these new pads, and the only testimonial is from paid staffers or pro shops.
Call it bitching if you like, I'm just not easily persuaded.

Anyone yet know or care to disclose who makes them and what the abrasive is?
Considering the standards to which both Abralon and Siaair Velvet pads are made, Let's just say I find it hard to believe some of the claims made for NEAT pads. I'd have to surmise that some of the enthusiasm shown is due more to the propaganda, err, advertising claims than their actual use.
So I'd like to understand the engineering behind them.

Trizact pads are very thin, only 5" in diameter, no foam backing, but the abrasive is VERY hard.They're designed for very hard substances, like glass and corian.
And they're a lot cheaper than either Abralon or Siaair.

Ah! Ok, I get the picture now.
If they got someone to attack Trizact's abrasive to a foam rubber backing, That would explain some of this. Wonder if 3M is involved???

Am i missing something?
I need to sand 30 balls....
If i pay $3 for an abralon pad that i can sand 10 balls with i have to buy 3 pads...thats $9
or
I can buy 1 neat pad for $9 and sand all 30....
The pricing is relevant to the product life and the technology....We have been using these pads in the shop for a few weeks and they work really well. You have to use water so there is no benefit keeping them in the bowling bag for a quick touch up by hand before league but thats the only downside we have experienced.
