Sorry, this is the PBA. You're going to see what Jaros does, not what 900Global can do.
You can see what the 900Global does when you or your teammate uses it/them properly.
No offense intended, but I'm not being snide or nasty, just truthful.
Jaros is an excellent pressure bowler, like him or not. I didn't care for him when he first came out and was on Brunswick's staff. The more I watched him, the more I repsected him, if not his style. As he got older and more versatile and won more, I respected him more and more. He is GOOD. He can go very straight or he can cover all the boards. He does what he has to.
When bowlers are at this level of excellence, you see what they do, not what the ball can do for them. They can use any ball they're comfortable using.

So, the equipment has no effect on pro bowlers at all? I really have a hard time believing that but I guess that could be true. To me, it looked like WRW was struggling a little last year using Morich. I guess it could have just been him or maybe just me.

Finishing 2nd in the Player of the Year standings and being on TV more than anyone else than Chris Barnes is "struggling"? I'd love to struggle like that with my equipment!
-
Equipment has an effect on talent. Ask Patrick Allen. Ask any pro for that matter. They are better than most with any equipment. To beat each other they have to have the right equipment in there hands at the right time.

I was referring to where T BONE said he thought Walter Ray Williams struggled with his equipment last year despite having a phenomenal season. I wasn't referring to Steve Jaros.

I wouldn't say no effect. I don't think I said, "no effect", but to say that because you're seeing Jaros in the finals throwing 900Global balls, then you're seeing 900Global balls "bowling" is wrong.
If I had to estimate, I'd say 90-95% bowler, 5-10% ball brand for the bowler's release.

Actually companies play a significant role in players success, first it takes the guess work out of equipment, they learn the line and know what changes to make and when. Try that with every companies options available on the truck. Secondly certain players styles, I have tons of experience with this, match up better if not perfectly with certain companies resins. An no they are not all the same, the characteristics of each resin base is totally different yet within the company they are basically the same. Thirdly the ability of the companies designers to match up core and cover, this is usually more forgiving on the house shot which most see, but on tour the mismatch if it exist is amplified.
Most important is confidence, player are comfortable with certain companies and have confidence in the line.
Steve Jaros and I have many years together, he is a great player and we together have had lots of success.
Don't sell the impact of the match up of player and company short.

Given this input, I'd revise my estimate
from "90-95% bowler, 5-10% ball",
to 85-90% bowler, 10-15% ball brand and ball rep's choosing the ball and drilling.

I do like the shirt please start selling these on your site, I will actually for once wear a ball company shirt.

One more thing it is nice to see you be rewarded with a television appearance for that outrageous fee you guys paid to be fully registered.
Do not count out my man Jaros from winning a few this year, he is one of my favorite bowlers and always humble which makes him more likable.
Go Steve go!!!
-
i like steve, but he was not matched up well yesterday w/ his AMF ball
break pearl would have been a nice look imo for him
he should have killed, but he was just out of sorts yesterday

Don't suppose it is much different than when the brunswick guys used Quantum equipment years ago. Steve used what he thought would give him the best reaction I would guess.

Actually I don't see the ouch, we got the brand name in front of viewers, and look at all the interneters that have commented. We design, make, market and sell all the AMF balls, if anyone did not know that they do now or they are asking why.
-
This was the first shot of getting 900 Global on TV, and there are alot of users amped to see Jaros throwing a Break Pearl or S 75 not a Code. We have seen AMF for years, 900 Global is the future and I think most people agree it is hard to wait for the future thats all.
-
This is funny stuff. Everyone inside this building wanted Steve to win. We didnt care if it was with an AMF or a Global ball, his job is to win titles. If the lanes fried up and he had to use his Geico ball you know what a win is better than trying to force a Break Pearl down the lane. Ask anyone at the event yesterday, ball reaction was terrible for everyone, it happens.

Even his look wasnt the best...To be honest i thought Rash actually had a way better look than Norm. Rash doesnt 7-10 and Norm sticks one of his classic 4 pins, that game goes a whole different direction. But its bowling, 1 shot changes everything.
Steve bowled great all week. Its a long season, i feel confident you will see a few of Global's products on the show.

Jaros used what he thought would give him the best look, He's the one that was bowling not us. It's easier to be the armchair bowler when we have no pressure or no burnt area to deal with. Kudos for making the show and I'm sure there's a bunch of PBA members would have loved that opportunity! Just my $.02, Bruce

Who cares what Steve used. He used what he thought would work. That is a good thing that he didn't do that with the Bounty or the Maniac. Then all you would have would be people complaining that Phil,Eric and company forced him to use the newest and greatest thing not what Steve wanted to use. To be honest I don't know if he did try in practice or even has one drilled but would of liked to see him use a Heist. Doesn't matter though he bowled great all week and the lanes broke down.
