Title: s70 hybrid
Post by: tdub36tjt on April 02, 2013, 02:20:45 PM
With all the success in the past between the s70 solid and pearl wonder why we haven't ever seen a s70 hybrid. Unless I'm forgetting about something i don't ever remember it being used. I would have to think they have tested that combination together, must have just not worked??

Wasn't The Code an s70 hybrid?

Personally I prefer the s70 and lower stuff over the s73+ especially in the solids and hybrids. The stronger covers have their place but they just don't see much use on the volumes I generally am bowling on.

Code was F-65

IMO, S70 is the best cover on the planet. Yes, even more than the S75.

S-70 , yeah I agree, hands down their most versatile & best cover. Tried the higher rated covers with far less love and reaction.

IMO its definitely between the s70 and r2s......would love to see a symmetrical line with s70 pearl, solid, and hybrid....if that happened i might not need any of my storm stuff anymore. I just can't duplicate that hyroad, wrecker, frantic, etc type reaction with the global stuff. Got close with the original train but cover was a touch to strong and had to really keep up with the polish on it to keep it close.

Wrap the Sure Thing core in the S70 cover and I would buy them by the case.

I do believe the Nkryption Code was more along the lines of F70 Hybrid.

NCode is F70 (In so many words), and don't really know if it's a hybrid. I have a NIB sitting behind me, though! :)

Drill another one and polish it?? But the hybrid would be good I'm sure.

If I remember correctly the NCode has some particle in it also though.

LOL  let's take a look at past balls that they have made here. They have made more S-70 releases then any other ball, Why do you think that is ( scratching my head here ) maybe it's because its there best selling cover of all time and it works the best for most bolwer, Hands down!!! I would say why would they go and do something stupid and change that chemistry that has worked for so many years now?
PLEASE DON'T go and try to fix something thats not BROKE!!!!

Here are just a few of there S-70 balls
 The Break Solid
 The Break Pearl
 The Break Out
 The Day Break
 The Prison Break
 The Profit
 The Raw Profit
 The org Eagle
 The Black Eagle
 The Nuts solid
 The Nuts pearl
 The Bank of 900 Pearl
 The Nuts Pearl J/P
 The Versus
 The War Eagle

Not a bad line up if your to have any of these balls in your bag today :)

Who was trying to fix anything???? Not sure what you mean by that. I was just asking if it had been used and was surprised it hasn't since the s70 pearl and solids have been good. I just want to see the s70 used on something symmetrical....a pearl, hybrid and solid s70 in a symmetrical core would be awesome.....

I think the Day Break was symmetrical.

Tdub, no. Wish I did. Only NIB I have right now are an NCode, Break Point, Jewel, and Torrid. Tried getting a Hook Monster (It's a Velocity, son!), but to no avail. Would like to buy a Break Point Pearl to go with my solid at some point.

You're slacking on your nib stock now that you drilled a bunch of them. I wish i could resist drilling a ball sometimes. I tend to immediately drill a nib ball lol.  I haven't really seen much about the hook monster. I'll check that one out. Gonna be hard to find a nib day break now i bet....

Ill promise you this if your wanting 1, you will NOT find any of them NIB I'm sure and if you do I'm sure there already drilled. IF you do by chance find 1 jump all over it before because if you don't I will IM sure like I do on all the others i find LOL, they have not had any of them for years :)  that ball was release some time ago. I have 1 and IM not parting with it, It goes with all my other collection of balls from 900 GLOBAL that they have ever released :) I have only seen 2 of these in almost 4 years now and they were both mine well till i gave my brother 1( wasn't happy i did that now ) and he loved it, well he did when he got it and threw it every week. Now that several other new balls have come out sense then he does not throw it much now. Just like me, when a new ball comes out its hard not to punch a couple of them up and give them a try. then again IM not just your avg bowler. I have well over 155 NIB balls in my 900 Global collection today that I will never part with & it keeps growing every week :)  I have there 1st release the Creature solid (2 of them)   and Earth ball all the way up to there newest release the Rip/IT  and at least 1 of every ball if not more  in between ( some of them I have 4- 6 in my collection  )  :) so you might be calling the wrong person a ball hog ( hoe)  LOL

I've seen pics of your collection i believe.... Pretty insane. I would have put holes in every one of them by now lol. And the old lady would be going crazy if i had that many. She complains about the 30 or so i have now....

IDK,I have a black eagle that I just cant get right. 4k a little weak for oil and to strong for dry. a little polish or higher grit and its straight as an arrow.

What's the layout/ any balance hole??
Title: Re: s70 hybrid
Post by: six pack on April 06, 2013, 07:11:36 AM
5x4.5 pin up no x hole.
tried cover at 1k-4k polished. seems to have a small window where it works good most of the time. I don't carry many balls to league, try to get by with 2 plus plastic.
I have a bank with same layout at 2k that covers a greater range of conditions and a BPP that is a little strong on the backend.

for the most part I just find the eagle more condition specific then the others.

Post by: tdub36tjt on April 06, 2013, 07:50:47 AM
I would try to get a hole down near the psa on it if you can legally. Try and make it transition a littlefaster in the back. Should help it in oil and smooth it out a little on the dry. Get the hole about 2 3/4" deep the bigger the hole the more effect...

yeah thought about a p3,went through all the cover adjustments first. I has that widow move when the shot's there for sure.

Then use it on oil. I personally could see using a little rougher grit on the Black Eagle. Then use it for heavy. Best ball I've ever thrown (Black break)

Agreed doom. I think i liked the original break more than the black eagle tho. The black eagle seems to be slightly stronger and is a little more prone to roll out for me. I could add surface to the break and it would just become a monster and never quit. Could be the conditions I'm on these days too tho....

Tdub, The HOOK MONSTER is another great ball that 900 Global has designed, it's awesome! I like throwing all there overseas balls that they have made over the years ( I have thrown most all of them )  They give me a different look on the back end to carry the corner pins better at times. I threw the HOOK Monster several times over the summer & I loved the reaction I got from it on the Shark -scorpion & Earl Anthony oil patterns with fresh back ends. This ball is very angular & takes some ball speed to help it get down the lane on your THS.. This ball reacts for me is like another overseas ball they releases back in 2009 (The Prison Break, Loved that ball just as much ) very angular as well & I needed ball speed to throw it as well..   I have a couple NIB 1s left that are part of my collection that I will NOT part with. This ball has been out for almost a year now & people are just now hearing about it :) go figure LOL.   The weight block in the Hook Monster ball is a 1 of a kind & nothing like all the others they have designed specs are  S-73 cover RG 2.516 Diff 0.049 <  Id like to see them put this weight block with the Rip/IT cover:)  hey maybe I have come on to something here for a up coming release for 900 GLOBAL..  8)

The hook monster does look nice. Just haven't seen them available. I tend to like symms more but the only strong covered symms in the global lineup I've thrown are the train series and they are all too strong covered for me. I start getting over s73 and i start having issues with roll out....unless i polish them with control it....

Impending Doom. The BREAK Pearl S-70 would be another great ball for you to have in your bag i believe. I still think it's 1 of the better balls they have come out with over the years( I myself think it's in the top 3 of all there releases) I also think it rolls better today then when I got it back in mid 2008. This is 1 of the only balls I have kept in over 5+ years Ive been throwing 900Global equipment, that shpould say something about this ball ) Once in a while you may see 1 pop up on eBay but they do tend to go for alot of $$$. Ill keep my eyes open for a NIB 1 and if the specs are not what IM looking for ILL let you know :) , I'm sorry but IM not parting with my NIB 1's because I want to be able to drill another 1up if somethings was to happen to 1 of the 2 I have drilled up now :) sorry . That's another reason I have collected all these RARE gems over the years( I'm still looking for  RARE gems to add to my collection every day  :-X ) . This way 5-10 years down the road if I want to drill 1 up I'M still able to do this with out paying an arm or a leg if IM even to find any of these balls then  ;)

Nonono, I was saying the Break Point Pearl, not the Break Pearl.

Also, The Hook Monster is a Velocity core with updated cover. I LOVED my Velocity and Maximum Velocity. If I could find a Hook Monster, I totally would get one.

it will be a very hard find.. I got luckly last week and found my 2nd NIB Hook Monster  for a reasonable price. I'M lucky but then again i have a ton of connections in many different states.  I only have 2 Break point pearls set aside( wish i had more ) .. there has been 1 listed on eBay for almost 2 years now and I think hes looking to get 135 i think for it with free shipping.. the specs are not the greatest, thats why i havent pulled the trigger on buying it. the Break Point you have there NIB is also a great ball.. you might want to think about putting holes in that as well :)

IDK,hard to beat the break on heavier conditions.ball is smooth.I wanted the eagle for when I move in but not as jumpy as the pearls. I admit the BPP is no slouch either.I think the eagle is staying out of my bag for awhile.

I hear you Six pack. I left mine in the bag tonight as well, only threw the Rip/IT and had an easy 742 set with it with only 2 opens ( both 7-10 splits ) or I cold of had another 800 series tonight with it :(  this ball is way under rated.  289 with a solid 8 pin  222 and a 231 tonight. not been under 700 since Ive been throwing the Rip/IT ;D  this ball is a keeper for sure

tdub, Id like to see alot of things but not that ;0  if your going to go out side the box, then really go out side the box. Have 900 Global make a ball useing the core of the Hook Monster with the Rip/IT cover stock.. now thats thinking out side the box :)
