anyone changed the original surface of this ball?? any success?? thanks!

I applied a coat of Storm Moon Shine to it but didn't change the box grit beforehand. Ball seemed pretty happy with the change.

I have changed it to a 2000 and 4000 abralon both with and without polish. For me the 2000 with Snake Oil works the best.

Very easy surface to play with that is for sure!

Have mine at 1000 Abralon with Snake Oil and love it! Had it at 1000 and worked very well on the heavier stuff and polished it up at 2000 and 4000 Abralon with Snake Oil and handled the drier side of mediums well as long as had a touch of oil in front. Even at the higher grits and with polish this is still and earlier reading ball and will still need some head oil.

so, it does adapt to ball surface changes very well?? Coz, I was able to meet a pair of lanes a couple of weeks ago, when my ball seems not make enough move to meet the pocket.. Also, I've only used this ball about 10 to 15 games... What would you guys sugggest me to do with my ball??

Sorry to hijack this thread....I have a question about SD75 too...If I am to bring the grit up to 4000, will it react like the Break point ? more backend ?Or stronger ? This surface good for mid heavy oil condition and/or for THS condition ? Thanks !

it needs about 30 games for it to wake up. i changed the surface on mine to 2000 by hand during a tournament.

Does it mean that i have to use it for about 30 days without cleaning the ball? Or do i still need to clean it? So, its better for me to wait till i get that many games, before altering its surface?? Thanks!

yes, leave the surface alone until you get about 25-30 games on it.. then if you need to alter the surface you will be able to judge it correctly.. when it comes to cleaning it I would suggest not to do anything to it until you see a big change in how it normally reacts..

Guys, the S75 had soaker...best to wait until it's had some time to "season" before tinkering too much with the ball.

Ok.. Coz i am using a ball cleaner right now after every set.. I will just wait for my ball to have that many games.. Thanks for the suggestions.

so, after using my s75 this past weekend, I have finally used my ball for about 22 games now... but, last sunday, again, I bowled on a pair of lains oiled heavily, and my ball seemed not made enough move towards the pocket again.. so, am starting to having some doubts on my ball right now..

Ok, so your ball is still at OOB finish, whihc is basically polished, or atleast both of mine came polished. I say take it down to 1000 abarlon or 500 grit sandpaper, this should make it roll much sooner through oil.

How is your ball layed out that may have more to do with it than surface. Mine is 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 pin under and mine is an oil monster. Only ball that I know is stronger is my Solaris Requiem and Mega friction. Mine eats oil for breakfast.

Take it down in grit and watch it perform.

Mine @500 abralon had a nice hook on the 50'TOC. OOB it would roll out on the house shot if I sent it too wide.

yeah.. mine is still in box surface... drilled pin up...cg slightly kicked out and a side hole... so, I should scuff it? first with the abralon pads or with sand paper?? Coz, I have been reading reviews that I should wait for about 20 to 30 games first, before really altering its surface?? this morning, I bowled in a tournament on heavily oiled lanes, and as usual, my ball didn't made enough move.. thanks in advance!
