Shadow Ops vs Badger Infused
« on: December 28, 2020, 12:00:16 PM »
I just picked up a Badger Infused. I love my Shadow Ops, in fact its the only ball I throw other than a spare ball. How would you guys and gals rate the difference between the two balls?

I felt the Shadow OPS to be a rolly type ball and didn't hit like I thought it should have.  I believe that was due to the mis-match of the cover/core combination.  The Break Asym (med-high RG) even tweaked was too strong for the coverstock (IMO).
I believe 900G got it right with the Badger Infused.  Tweaking of the coverstock to 70/30 vice 80/20 and changed the core to the High RG Symmetrical Lacerate core provided a good combo (again IMO).  My Infused provides me with good controlled length and a decent turn and hit on medium to light patterns.  I'm a med-high speed, with 400+ revs, about 10 degree tilt (up the back to much, working on this).
It all comes down to each bowlers preference, how they bowl, rev rate, tilt, rotation, etc.  Some folks will like one ball to death, while others, not so much.  Find what you like and what works for you.  Granted, a lot of folks on this thread have provided excellent advice over the years, it's totally up to the individual to find out what works and what doesn't.

I apologize for the long post.  Just my thoughts.
Good luck with your new ball and bowl well!

No need to apologize for a long post. It's a very informative post and I thank you for it. The Shadow Ops matches up for me very well. It makes me play much straighter up the lane and has helped me become a better bowler. Is the infuse a little more aggressive?

In my opinion the Infused will allow you to open up the lane a bit and create a touch more angle into the pocket (of course all this is based on your game/layout etc) and it shouldn't burn up as quick as the Shadow OPS.  You will get a little bit more movement in the Infused than you would in the Shadow OPS.

Enjoy and have fun!
