Author Topic: Why should I buy a 900 Global ball? (Read 4107 times)

The pro-shop I use started carrying 900 Global a little while back (They dropped Brunswick, cause they seem to be dead in the water.)

He has some demo balls of the Bank and Raw Profit you can try out. So I thought I'd give them a try (I'm getting ready to get rid of my Cell it's about had it.)

Since I have never used a 900 Global ball before. How do they stack up to the other companys? How well do they accept surface changes? Any cracking problems etc.

I'm thinking about the raw profit its alittle cheaper than the bank. But the idea behind the core in the bank looks interesting. So any thoughts?

Based on experience, I can tell you that they make some great stuff!!

My Break Out has a very similar if not exact motion that my Black Widow soild did and covers the same volume of oil. My Profit is one smooth rolling ball that I can use when the Break Out is too much ball..

You won't be disappointed..

If I was recommending a ball to try first it would be the Bank Pearl!! The ball is that good. It's so clean through the front of the lane and so strong in the mids and back yet lets me stay in the same area for longer than most any other equipment. Plus its no fluke that Haugen was rolling 2 pins with it on TV. I haven't carried what should be 2,8's like I do with this ball ever before.

Love the way they roll, but I've had 4 of them crack all the way around on me.

I would blame me for something just odd but my brother and a buddy have both also have them crack thus I will NEVER buy another 900 global ball.

Ive have quite a few, and the only one that cracked was the S75. I would buy another in a heart beat though because it just rolled so good.

I have these:

Hack, Hack Infect green, Break pearl, Favorite, Raw Profit, Maverick, Bounty Hunter and have owned the Breakpoint pearl, Prison Break pearl, S75 and both Creatures. I like the Hack, Raw, Maverick, and Break pearl the best. Aside from the S75, S70 seems to work the best for me.

If you can demo them, why not just try one and see if you like it, you dont need us to convince you.

While trying them out would show how they react with how you bowl. That wouldn't tell you about any long term use info, That maybe useful to know before hand that would be helpful in deciding to buy one.

The Break Out is in the top three if not the best ball I have ever owned. Only one of the balls I have bought from them is marginal and that is the Missing Link and totally believe that is due to getting a really long pin and too weak of a drill for a lower end ball. I have had one ball crack, the Break Point Pearl and 900 replaced it immediately with the closest ball in their line up at that point. I would buy another BP pearl in a heart beat if I found one at a good price. Not sure which one of those you mentioned I would recommend first. I have the Bank but drilled it more conditional not for daily use. I have the Profit but sounds like the Raw Profit is even better, my Profit is set up to play deep on longer patterns so only sees use at tournaments. If you are wanting a ball for league and your center has medium conditions I would probably say try the Raw Profit due to the S70 coverstock. At my home center anything with a stronger coverstock tends to die on the back end, they are just too aggressive.

Roll with 900 Global.

I agree with tdub, the bank pearl is a monster. Just got one and shot 279 literally after lifting it out of the box after drillling. It goes long through the front and turns nicely into the pocket. After bowling 3 games in league, I feel it's a great ball that sometimes hits "too" hard if you can believe that. I had multiple 7 pins standing as pins jumped high and hard around it.

BreakPoint Pearl is my personal favorite. Due to it's versatility. Used it on many different conditions and always able to adjust with it.

If I encounter heavier oil I go to the Lunatic. This ball is a typical skid flip with a hard entry angle into the pocket.

I personally have not had one of the 900 Globals crack ever, but maybe I'm just lucky??? Had a Columbia product crack all the way around from sitting in my closet for a month.

I have Columbia, Brunswick, and 900 Global balls and love the 900 Globals the most. Raised my average 10 pins in 11 weeks recently after switching to the BreakPoint Pearl and now Bank Pearl.

nothing but good things to say about Global. A very top notch company that provides great equipment and service.

I have a Bounty and love the way it still rolls to this day. Have had it resurfaced once as well and rolls true. There are quite a few Global balls around my area and havent seen any cracking problems.

I would be more than willing to put Global up against any company, their lineup is very complete and seems to have a lot of easy transitions

There are no guarantees that they will match up to your style - it's nice that your shop has some demo balls for you to try.

I tried the Creature S40 and didn't have much luck with it. Didn't surprise me since I didn't have any luck with the AMF Titan (same core) either.

The original Break (S70) is a top 5 ball for me. That ball just flat out worked for me. It was one of the few balls that I could use for all 3 league games with only minor adjustments.

The Break Pearl was okay, but I never did figure it out. I think I just tend to do better with solid covers. It did have its moments, but I don't think I ever saw the right conditions for that ball.

I had a Link S30 that was also okay. It was a little too specific for my needs. I bought it used and only plugged the thumb, so I guess I can blame the layout. Probably would have been a little more forgiving with a different layout. Worked great when I could consistently hit my mark (but honestly, that isn't very often for me!)

I still have a Break S75, Maniac, and Lunatic sitting around. For me the Break S70 was just that good of a ball that I never really needed to look at anything else. I got a 1/2 season out of it the first year, a full season the next, and almost a full season the following year (only stopped using it because I moved up in weight). I never had any problems with it - a couple of hot water baths and/or a resurface whenever it started looking a little lifeless and it was as good as new. I still carry it as my bail out ball, but I should probably just get a Break Out.
