Hello All,

I'm on my 2nd Black Ops, 1st one I tossed for a couple months before moving on to the next rock... Actually shot a 300 game with it out of the box. After struggling with a few Storm balls I decided to go back to this one being a great benchmark ball.

I keep it close to the 1500 factory polish and prefer to keep it in this condition for general use. What would you suggest for a very balanced front to back, even slower response to friction for wet/dry conditions? Eyeing up a Truth Tour. I guess there's always the idea of another black Ops with a surface change, shorter pin, and larger VAL angle.

Some have recommended the Quantum Bias as an assym sanded wet/dry blender.

Just got done throwing my Green Quantum at lunch and man does that cover stock generate a ton of friction.  I would be careful going the Bias route because unless you have a good amount of speed you are asking for designer pocket splits if the ball sees a good amount of friction down lane.  Learned that lesson the hard way with my More Cash.

The Black Ops and the S70 solid coverstock is just amazing. Few bowling balls can cover such a wide variety of conditions and create such a large sweet spot between the hook and roll hook phase.

I guess I'm stuck with picking up something to compliment the Black Ops handling more oil (Truth Tour?) or going next level to something I may rarely use (Bias).

The Storm SYNC was one of my favorite balls for sport and wet/dry. So unbelievably smooth and readable. The IQ Tour amazing overall but can't handle volume.

I bet you the the new physix will be very good on wet dry...

Being you liked the sync, the new physix has NRG hybrid on it, sanded. Big Assym core...not as Assym as the sync but still...

I used to use balls like the prodigy, lucid, sinister, Crux, critial, .... All sanded hybrids and pearls just get that not so flippy reaction for wet dry...

Yeah The Bias may be something completely unnecessary unless you have the undying need to ditch the ball from the gutter cap game 1. Again my best sets on THS have come from keeping my angles in front of me. Honorable mentions: Motiv Forza (OG), IQ Tour, Ebonite V2, Morich Levrg.

Isn't this what the X2 was made for? My Motiv ball for this is the SS.

Yes, but 1. It's not in production anymore, much to my chagrin. 2. The TT is about 4 boards stronger than the X2. My original X is this ball right now, until I put holes in the new stuff.

I agree with doom on taking the black ops to 1000. Did it with mine to slow it down and handle more oil, wet dry conditions better and it’s like totally different ball. Used it at bowlers journal, and nationals in Syracuse at 1000 with success. One of my favorite pieces in my bag. Never leave home without it.
