Title: Whats next for 900Global?
Post by: ejs1997 on April 11, 2010, 03:21:11 PM
What does everyone expect from 900Global for their next ball?  A Break Out Pearl, a heavy oil ball to replace the BH's as the bounty ends in about 3 weeks, or one of the listed before and a Lunatic replacement as well?

Don't you expect a new ball in the Bounty Line with a new bounty amount posted? The money has sure helped them sell a lot of bowling balls, and the Bounty series roll quite well too. After that they will probably do what every other company is doing-making small changes in current balls, changing the names and sending them out to the customer. Same with the AMF side. I wish they had been able to keep the Dynothane rights because there were plenty of those that I really liked.

Don't think the high end stuff needs to much more hopefully they keep on the same path.  I would like to see some low range balls to fit a little better but that could just be me?  Thoughts?

I'm going to make a guess, and I haven't talked to anyone at 900.
I would guess that the PBA Staffers would like a stronger ball than
the Break Out. The WRW-Jaros-Smiths of the PBA like their options open, and right now there's only one (or two) strong solids in that mix. I heard the
Xframe guys say that WRW loved the Break Out, but they said he was most fond of one right off the press. That said, I would bet he would like to see the strong ball line-up a little more creative. Just my guess...je

I agree with notsohotshot, because of the bounty amount, I bought two Bounty Hunters and was able to convince 5 others to get one

I can't help but think the Break Out Pearl has to be coming soon. Natural progression to bring that one back as well. The Break Pearl was a great ball so they could just re-label or make a slight tweak if they felt it was needed. The next monster I would think would drop mid-summer just in time for league season to get going again.

I would love to see a break out pearl. I have a break pearl that is a great ball, but having some high tracking issues it has hit the bench becuase of rolling over the holes because it is pin down.

I want one to put a high pin drill and let her eat.

Walter loves to bowl with the same ball ( but different drillings. coverstock adjustments)
he always have like 4 or 5 "same balls " drilled and prepared different , so i dont think he needs something else than a Break Out

Hopefully a couple of symmetrical pieces. A Lunatic Pearl and a stronger version (Raging or Raving Lunatic) maybe S75 cover and Lunatic core.

They really could do 3 new balls.  A heavy to replace the BHs, a medium-heavy BO Pearl and a Light-Medium for the Lunatic. Dont think the Link line needs any help at this time.

A friend that owns a couple of pro shops told me he understood the Lunatic and entire Link line were gone. Plus one of the BH balls and a one or two in that break line.
Title: Re: Whats next for 900Global?
Post by: tekneek on May 04, 2010, 07:06:20 PM
the Lunatic, Break Point, are gone from my understanding.
The Break Out will remain in the current line up. As for the Break Out Pearl or to revive the Break Pearl is a possibility depending on demand but not in the current new 4 balls to be released, possibly in the fall if needed.  I've probably said enough at this point, not sure when the new balls are being released, sometime in June I would say with a showing at Bowl Expo most likely if everything goes accordingly.

Maybe I should order me another Break Point Pearl. So far that is the best of my new 900 arsenal for house conditions. Maybe drill it up with a different pin or just save for later.

I'm not going to violate Eric's confidence either, but having been in the plant last week I got to see at least one new item that's going to BowlExpo.

Hopefully I am safe to say that it is a followup to another ball in the earlier lineup, it had an interesting core modification and a different cover to go along with the core changes.

What a tease, I know.

Any idea on the release date of the Profit?

Now that BTM has reviewed it I thought it might be available. However, there is no mention of it on the 900G website (odd, you''d think that they would want to introduce it- not BTM).

By the way, Buddies has only the Break Out, Break Point and Break Point Pearl still for sale...The Links and both Bounty Hunters are gone- most likely discontinued would be my guess. That leaves lots of room at the heavy and light end of the 900G lineup. Can''t wait to see what''s next besides the Profit!!

It was my understanding when I spoke with Eric on Friday, there would be possibly one ball released prior to Bowl Expo, the rest to be released in mid to late June.
the release he mentioned was not the Profit, unless it is an entry level ball.

Steve-
The Profit is reviewed in the 6/10 version of BTM which I received Saturday. They referred to it as the upper middle price point and the review certainly reflects that this is no entry level ball- S70 pearl cover with a brand new core.

maybe they have changed their mind set, all I know is what I was told by Eric. I have not asked for any info, as they have enough on their plate without being pinged about new releases, lol. All I have heard is rumors, and I don't place faith in rumors. I guess I'll see it in BTM when mine arrives, in another week or so.

Only makes sense if they are going to release it soon.  What's the point of releasing information in May on a ball that isn't going to ship until July?  And why make an announcement when most bowlers are done bowling until the start of fall leagues?  Sure, some bowl summer leagues, but if the ball isn't shipping until July who really cares?

I can pretty much guarantee that even though Ebonite says the Game Plan and Vital Sign aren't coming out until June and July, somebody will be over there asking why there aren't any reviews or videos.

Bowl Expo is June 27th-July 1st.  I'm sure they'll make an announcement sometime before then and have the balls available for display at the expo.

Only thing I have heard is they will improve or replace the Link. Don't know if that means same name with stronger core or new line. Supposed to still be a dry lane option, so think I will hold out for the new release for that part of the new arsenal.
