Out maneuver your competition with the 900Global Shadow Ops bowling ball. The S25 Hybrid coverstock on this ball is 80% urethane and 20% reactive urethane. this coverstock is paired with the Break Asymmetric core which has a higher RG which allows the cover to store more energy. This ball is best used on shorter patterns or extreme wet/dry patterns where a reactive cover is too aggressive and a urethane cover isn't aggressive enough. This ball offers more length downlane without exhausting all of its power on the front end.

Controllable, Predictable, Smooth

The Shadow Ops is sneaky awesome.  It has the new S25 Hybrid Coverstock.  This is an 80/20 urethane and reactive urethane blend.  Inside the coverstock is the proven Break Asymmetric core.  This combination is special and allows for several different uses.  It is adaptable to just about any situation and allows the bowler to easily control the pocket and still have plenty of energy at the pins.  It is more than capable of handling house shot’s and allows you to stay further right on the fresh and play the track area.  As the track burns up it is has plenty of strength to allow you to go left and use the burn to your advantage.  It does not matter if you are a tournament player or a league bowler this ball can help you manage the wet dry of any condition.  Do not overlook this ball when it comes to looking for something between Reactive and Urethane. This ball gives you the best of both worlds without breaking your pocketbook!  I promise, you will not be disappointed in the versatility this ball gives you!

Likes: Has that typical urethane roll. Very early, with a smooth and predictable reaction. However, the 80/20 urethane/reactive cover helps the shadow ops read the midlane better than traditional urethane with stronger drive through the pins.

LANE CONDITION

Featuring the Break Asymmetric core and wrapped with the new S25 Hybrid coverstock, the Shadow OPS is the perfect weapon to use on shorter patterns and extreme wet-dry oil conditions.

The new S25 hybrid coverstock is an 80/20 urethane and reactive blend, giving the bowler the best of both worlds.

We tried the Shadow OPS on a fresh house shot pattern. The first thing I noticed when I started warming up with the ball is how strong it is down the lane compared to other urethane balls I have used in the past.

The Shadow Ops is only 80% urethane in the coverstock, with the other 20% being reactive resin, this blend provides more length and a stronger move down the lane. All this without losing that typical urethane motion.

I was able to play with the Shadow OPS close to my comfort zone and the ball never overreacted even with the added downlane motion.

Misses outside and the ball had some recovery to hit light pocket and misses inside the ball pushes down the lane without going sideways.

The Shadow OPS is extremely controllable and easy to read. I had to play close to the track to have a good motion with it. This ball is a great option when you have to play straighter up the lane and you have to keep a tighter angle to the pocket.

When I tried to move right once I started to see some carry down, the ball still offered me some recovery compared to other urethane balls that are earlier and smoother, but I wouldn't use this ball when I need play steeper angles. 900 Global has other options like the Honey Badger to open up the lane.

I found the Shadow OPS to be more versatile than I thought. I feel that 900 Global described the ball perfectly. It is a ball that is as strong as a reactive ball, but at the same time is not as smooth as a urethane ball.

The 80/20 blend gives this ball a motion I have never seen before. It has unique motion, it rolls like a urethane ball, smooth and predictable with the carry of a reactive ball.

Overall I feel that this ball is a great addition to the 900 Global lineup. It is a motion that I have never seen before.

The Shadow OPS gives you the predictability of a urethane ball and the shape down the lane of a reactive ball. This ball will be a great option to blend those typical over/under conditions and also a great weapon to use on short oil patterns where you need to control the breakpoint but at the same time have a stronger down lane motion.

Thank you for watching!

Likes:The Shadow Ops is the missing link between traditional urethane and low end reactive for use on medium to dry lane conditions. Using the Break asymmetrical core with 1000 Abralon box polish finish provides the Shadow Ops with a 2.52 rg, .044 differential, and .017 Mass Bias ,which provides the length of urethane with the back end reaction of reactive. I have used the Shadow Ops on fresh house (Stone Street)and on a Kegel 40 foot, medium volume challenge pattern with excellent results.

There are bowler’s who just can’t get enough reaction out of a pure urethane ball.
The shadow Ops fills that void with the 80% urethane 20% resin cover. Sometimes you need that little extra pop at the back end of the pattern, the Shadow Ops will give you that. Use your favorite layout, fear the dry no more, The Shadow Ops is 100% ready.

Review
The Shadow OPS is 80 percent urethane and 20 percent reactive urethane blend. My ball is drilled with the pin above my ring finger and the CG below the bridge. This ball is very controllable and doesn’t give away the pocket. The Shadow OPS has more hooking and hitting power than my previous urethane/reactive hybrid ball, which is the result of the Break Asymmetric core. I tested this ball on a THS 41 feet. On the fresh I was outside five and on the burn I was inside 10. This is a great ball to have in your bag, get one today!

OK, haven’t done this in a while, but here goes.

Got this ball off e-bay. Opened up the thumb for fit, and changed the finger inserts. Pin is at 1:30 to the ring finger hole, about 1/2 inch away. The mb is stacked, and next to the thumbhole. The cg was out of line, and ended up way out to the positive side, but ball only had 2.5oz top and no x-hole, so remains legal.

Most guys here have seen some of my posts, and know I tend to like nice, controllable, urethane type reactions. I’ve tried other “urethane like” balls before, with quite varied results, but nothing really seemed to fit.

 Until now.

You want that nice, urethane control? This ball was an almost identical match through the fronts with an older sanded pearl urethane (red pearl hammer) I’ve been using some, so I was able to keep my target out in front of me. Ball got through the fronts pretty easily, but does begin to read the pattern quickly. A little stronger/earlier than the old Hammer, but not so much I didn’t adjust quickly to the difference.

Ball has that “eye appeal” that people who throw a lot of urethane will love, but a backend reaction that people who throw mostly reactive will hate. If you like having a ball roll early with a mild, hard rolling move, you’ll love it. If you are waiting for it to read the backend and make a strong move off the breakpoint, you will NOT like it.

Where this ball made ALL the difference was not in its overall reaction, but in the way it hit the rack, and the way it went through the pins. Time after time, this ball finished up high flush, and just rolled through the rack with authority, and without the deflection I would often get with my older, “regular”, urethane stuff.

And, after I got comfortable with it and started trusting it, I found that it also tended to give a little miss room (a board or two in AND out) and still carry much better than my other urethane options.

Never felt like I needed to pull out my reactive to get the finish or the carry. No, I couldn’t “open the lane up” like you can with resin, but I also never had to move my feet more than a couple of boards all night long either, and that’s a trade off that I’ll take every day, especially when a ball will generate the roll and carry like this thing was doing. Watched it snap out tenpins time after time after time.

Shot 224-234-245-703. Not bad for an old hack just trying to have fun.

Bottom line is this.  If you really like urethane reaction, you will love this ball. If you’re looking for something to give you that reaction AND carry better than you’re used to, go get you one of these, add your favorite drilling, and go have a blast!
