Great Ball!!!

I have used this ball on a variety of lane surfaces and conditions, and I am impressed! I drilled it because I needed a ball that hooks less than my Eagle and is for medium to dry lanes. It gets down the lane with ease and has a strong motion off the spot. It is also very consistant and easy to read on both the house patterns, and the sport patterns. I would recommend this ball to anyone who wants the high performance hitting power at a much lower price.

Likes:  What I like the most is the amount of ball motion for the price point.  This is one of the pieces that every high average bowler should have for league night and weekend tournaments.  I drilled this weak as recomended (by hoselrockets), 5x3.  My PAP is 4 1/4 by 5/8 up, righty, and more up the back...general lane play is a small belly shot staying between 15 and 5.

The S43 Pearl cover really reacts to friction.  Again, AMAZING ball motion for the price.

I also really love the fact that 900 Global used a variation of the original Code core.  Hitting power and ball motion, what's not to love?

Dislikes: Heavier concentrations of oil or carry down.  Despite the sanded surface, Hook! (blue) does not have the same recovery with the presence of oil on the back end.

Special thanks to hoselrockets for sending me this great piece.

Love this bowling ball.  It's amazing performance at it's price.  This is a great "first ball out of the bag" on shorter or lighter volume patterns.   It has a controllable motion at the break point but plenty of punch on fresher lane conditions.  This ball is also VERY receptive to surface changes.  I've used mine at 1000 dull and also with some polish.

Bowler Stats:
- Right Handed
- ~350 RPM
- ~24km/h Ball Speed
- PAP: 5"

Ball Stats:
Layout: 70 * 5 1/2 * 30 No Hole
Surface: 2000 Abralon + Polish

Description

Intended Lane Conditions
- Short Oil Patterns
- Burned down Lanes

What I was looking for:

I was looking for a ball to compliment my Red/Yellow Hook, for when the lanes are too dry outside so my Red/Yellow would start too soon, but wont make the turn on deeper angles. I was hoping that the Blue Pearl Hook with my surface change and the weaker and more pin up layout would just give me the needed length and a little more pop down lane.

What I got:

Well...just what I was looking for an even more! Even tho my Blue Pearl has the same surface prep, a pearl cover and a weaker layout, it is 2-3 boards stronger than my Red/Yellow Hook. But this time stronger doesent mean that it needs more oil.
In fact I can play it on fewer oil than my Red/Yellow can handle.
The ball has just enough midlane read and a strong continuous arc towards the pins(the arc just never stops ;) ) Carry is just phenomenal, especially considering the price and the usual carry problems you have on scorched lanes, which this ball makes look like a fresh pair.

Conclusion

If you are looking for a ball that will give you the length you need on shorter/lower volume oil patterns or burned down lanes, but still with plenty of recovery to kick the corners out, this is the ball you are looking for.

If you need a ball with more controll for tougher or squirty lanes, go for the Red/Yellow Hook.

To have both balls in my bag, gives me the confidence, that there is no dry lane that I can't handle.

The Hook series is the best bang for your buck on the market. With a wide variety of coverstocks /surfaces and colors, everyone should have one in their bag. I have a Blue/Blue Hook with the pin up 6” from my P.A.P. with the CG at 60 degrees. This ball works great when the lanes break down and there is wet-dry. It gets down the lane nicely but doesn’t over react off of the dry, yet still has enough to react in the oil if you miss in. I also have a Black/Silver Hook that I drilled pin down 3 ½” from my P.A.P. with the CG kicked out at 45 degrees and a 1” hole over 4 ½” and down 1 ½”. This ball works great on almost any med. house shot that I have run in to. It’s clean through the front yet plenty strong enough in the mid lane and back-end.
