I drilled my Long Shot 5 ½ x 5, pin over the ring finger, to get a little more length and backend out of this ball.  The first thing I noticed is how sweet the colors look on this ball.  The blue and silver make a cool looking ball.

The ball motion I get out of the Long Shot is something I haven’t seen from Global yet.  It’s very clean through the fronts, even on a good amount of friction, and has plenty of back end pop.  For me this ball is longer than the Lunatic or Maniac, and with a more angular move off of the friction.  

The first time I used the Long Shot was on a beat up house shot on older Pro Anvilane.  It matched up very well on this condition.  It cleared the fronts well, but still had enough strength to get through the tighter backends on this lane surface.

This ball is perfect for lighter volume house shots, or later in the day when the heads are pretty beat up, but you still need a ball with some muscle down lane.  I’m pretty sure I’ll get a lot of use out of this ball in the many 6 and 8 game tournaments around here.

My Long Shot is drilled 65x4.5x40 no weight hole.

I got this ball to be my next step down from my Favorite. After I took the surface to 2000 + Polish, thats just what I got. (Factory polished surfaces tend to be a little over under for me)

What I got from this ball is easy length with a STRONG arch at the breakpoint yet very readable and with good control.

Compared to my Favorite this ball has good 1-2 feet more length and a stronger backend reaction.

Compared to my Lunatic the Long Shot is much cleaner to the front and mids for a lot more power at the breakpoint and the pins.

If you are looking for a ball with a strong but controllable backend reaction on medium to short oil patterns get a Long Shot. And if you want a good 1-2 punch for more oil get the Favorite too. You cant go wrong with these balls!
