The Break Down has a reaction I am not sure I have ever seen before. With the high rg, low diff, & medium Int. Diff, this ball does some tricks. It is super clean through the front with just an absolute predictable motion. As the lanes break down, but you are not looking for a skid flip motion, this ball is just perfect. For tournament conditions, this ball will be perfect when you want to play on top of the hook on the lanes. It doesn't over react, but it is strong enough to handle medium volumes of oil. It can handle some fresh patterns, but will be better suited for lanes going through transition. This ball is close in overall hook with the All Day, but just a completely different motion. It is a must have for any bowler!

The Breakdown is a unique addition to this years lineup. Initially I was surprised on how smooth the reaction was with the use of the original break core. The modification of the core numbers certainly show on this one. This ball plays right into the description, use when the lanes breakdown and on tournament conditions to control the breakpoint. I can see this ball being beneficial on the Open patterns this year as well.

I threw the Break Down during a PBA Qualifier on the New Viper Pattern.  This was by far “the best ball on the lanes” that day (1st Place).  I began practice with the RESPECT, but quickly recognized the sharp jump it made when it hit the friction.  I immediately grabbed my Break Down and moved 4 boards left and targeted 10 at the Arrows with 7/8 at the break.  This ball allowed me to tighten up my line as it made a smoother more controlled move into the pocket.  I used this ball all 5 games as it allowed me to keep it in play without sacrificing pin carry.  If you are looking for a ball for those tough or transitioning lanes, that will clear the early friction with Big Time hitting power, this is it!  It is my Go To Ball and will definitely be going with me to El Paso!

COMMENTS
When the Break Down came out, I was super excited. It was long overdue, but with one catch, a lower differential core. How was this going to react? The Break Down is the smoothest, most controlled, predictable ball I have ever thrown! No matter what condition I used the Break Down on, what I got was a nice midlane read with a smooth, controlled backend reaction. This ball allowed me to square up to the lane and throw the ball on a down and in line. Nothing fancy or flashy about it. Also, after game 2 on a THS, the switch is automatic. It is easily the go to ball when the lanes get over-under and go through transition. When the heads get burnt, bring out the Break Down! True to its name, you won't be disappointed. You will find the back-end motion is not the same as a the typical "Break" core ball in the past with the skid/snap reaction. Very drill and bowling style friendly, don't be afraid to put your favorite layout on it.

REVIEW:

This was the first 900 Global ball I have tried sense the black eagle.  The break down did exactly what I anticipated on this short pattern.  Even with this short pattern the break down was still very controllable off the spot.  As the pattern blended out later in the day, I found that I had to put more revs on the break down to carry the corner.  I found the most success with the break down later in the day because of how clean through the fronts this ball is.

The Break Down will always be in my bag.  The versatility of this ball is UNBELIEVABLE.  It could be used on multiple patterns, and is most likely on the most versatile ball on the market.

  I drilled the BREAKDOWN very similar to my Dream On, the only difference is that the Mass Bias is 1 1/2 inches closer to my PAP.  This ball motion is completed different than the Dream On, in fact the BREAKDOWN reminds more of a symmetric then an asymmetric ball.  This ball is very smooth, and not a big hook ball because of its higher RG and lower diff.  These ball will work really well on shorter patterns and patterns that have some play on them. I wouldn't recommend this ball for heavier oil conditions, in fact I like my reaction more so with a surface grit more than its box finish.  It's a good piece and it fills a gap with my current arsenal so I'm very pleased with this ball.  Don't forget to add a BREAKDOWN and some performance for YOUR game.

The Break Down is the most controllable asymmetric ball I have ever thrown.  The RG, differential, cover, and core combination provides a unique shape that is great for sport patterns or league bowlers who like to play straighter angles. I like use it on shorter patterns or when I need to control the breakpoint.  Tournament bowlers and league bowlers, alike, will love using this ball when the lanes get tough.
