The Fan-Favorite S70â„¢ Coverstock now comes in a Hybrid and like the solid provides the perfect blend of friction and backend.
The Breakâ„¢ Asymmetric core has been modified to provide a cleaner look through the front of the lane before making that patented backend move it is known for.
Use the Special Opsâ„¢ on medium lane conditions.
Use the Special Opsâ„¢ on medium lane conditions.
The Special Ops continues the prestigious core and cover combination that has produced amazing results and success over the years for 900 Global.  By tweaking the Break Asymmetric core by raising the RG and lowering the Differential in combination with the S70 Hybrid cover. The Special Ops creates Black Ops performance on lesser volumes of oil, as the lanes transition and open up.

The new Special Ops from 900 Global is the newest addition to the Preferred line. This ball compliments the Black Ops very well. Using one of the best cores ever produced from 900 Global, the Break Core, this ball is a great value with asymmetric performance in a mid-level price point. As compared to the Black Ops, the Special Ops is a bit less overall hook and smoother off the break point. This ball still clears the heads very well, while creating a strong back end motion that bowlers love to see. This should be one of the first balls out of your bag to judge lane conditions for a benchmark reaction.

Special Ops

The 900 Global Special Ops utilizes a modified Break Asymmetric core wrapped with a hybrid version of the S70 coverstock finished at 1500 grit polish. The core modification resulted in a higher RG and lower differential as compared to the Black Ops. In combination with the hybrid cover stock, I find the Special Ops cleaner through the heads and a touch smoother on the back-ends. The changes in the core will allow higher rev players easier use and a more predictable ball motion as compared to the Black Ops. I drilled mine 60 x 4 x 60 with a P3 balance hole and took the surface to 4000 grit. Out of box, the polished finish was too shiny. After a light sand the Special Ops came to life and will be a great match up on medium conditions when the Black Ops rolls too early. Don’t let the core modifications fool you, the special ops can corner with the best of them.

The new special ops is great off the original black ops. When the black ops becomes to much you can be sure the special ops will take over super clean through the heads great mid lane with the perfect amount of back end. If you liked the black ops you'll fall in love with the special ops.

Special Ops
Coverstock: S70â„¢ Hybrid
Finish: 1500 Grit, Polished
Color: Black/Orange
Core: Breakâ„¢ Asymmetric
2.52 Radius of Gyration
.044 Differential
0.17 Intermediate Differential
Positive Axis point 5 7/16 by 1/4
Layout 4 1/2 x 3 3/4 x 3 1/2

The Special Ops is 900 Global's newest release in the Preferred Series!  It has the same Break Asymmetrical core shape that is known and loved but the density in the core has been changed to create another unique ball reaction.  The Special Ops has the same S70 cover as the Black Ops but with a hybrid cover.  With the changes this creates more length in the front part of the lane than the Black Ops with virtually the same back end motion.  The Special Ops will be a go to ball at some point during the day when the oil starts to dissipate in the heads and carry down the lane as more shots are being thrown. This ball is a must have in my opinion.....  Remember, 900 Global has a great line of equipment so stop by your local pro shop and add more Performance to YOUR game.

Ball: 900 Global  Special Ops
Coverstock: S70â„¢ Hybrid
Finish: 1500 Grit, Polished
Color: Black/Orange
Core: Breakâ„¢ Asymmetric
2.52 Radius of Gyration
.044 Differential
0.17 Intermediate Differential

Drilling: 4 x 4x 4
Pap: 4 3/4 x 7/8 up

Lane Condition: 40 Foot THS
The Special Ops is the black ops with a S70 hybrid cover.  The special ops gives you an option of a cleaner front lane reaction with still retaining energy for a good direction change at the end of the lane.  The black and orange color scheme is visually appealing and looks really good rolling down the lane

Compared to the Black ops, (similar drilling) the special ops was 4 feet longer and a smoother, less angular down lane motion.

Layout: 65 x 4.5 x 40
Patterns: Multiple

This edition of the Ops line brings what the Original Ops didn’t…a cleaner motion that isn’t overly aggressive off the spot. My first time using the Special on a sport condition it was very predictable in comparison to the Truth and Inception. It cleared the heads well while the other two read too early. I was surprised on how it still read the midlane yet retained energy to go through the pin deck. On a THS I have found that I need to square up my angles to get it to the pocket. I feel like the special ops shins when you encounter transition and see friction down lane.  After letting a few people try out the new line this one has stood out above the rest. Overall I feel global did a great job creating a midline asym piece that can be tunable for multiply types of players.

Compared to its predecessor the Black Ops, the Special Ops is cleaner through the front with a more predictable back-end.  The Special Ops is my go-to ball when the lanes are in transition and I start seeing more friction on the back-end; especially on sport and challenge patterns.  The natural step down from the Truth, the Special Ops is definitely a must have for anyone’s arsenal.

Ball: 900 Global Special Ops
Coverstock: S70â„¢ Hybrid
Finish: 1500 Grit, Polished
Drilling: 50x38 w/4 and 3/8 pin.
Pin Placement: Above ring finger
Oil pattern: THS

As one of the few people who had difficulty controlling the strength of the core/cover combo of the original Black Ops, the Special Ops fills a great spot in my arsenal. The ball floats through the heads and has a very strong move off the spot. The ball retains energy very well for increased pin carry. The Special Ops is a good step down when you notice solids, such as the Truth, to roll early i n the fronts and you need a ball that gets down the lane easy yet makes a strong enough move off the dry. For an asymmetrical core it actually has a very predictable motion down lane. Fantastic release from 900 Global and a very reasonable price point. Highly recommended!

Likes:This ball compliments the original perfectly. Once my black ops hooks to early and starts to lose continuation this ball cant get out of the bag fast enough! I have mine 5 inches away with pin under middle finger(right handed). what I like most about it is how it clears the fronts, great when needing to open up angles.900 Global staff Tim Janz

900 Global Special Ops
#15.2
3" pin
3.3 oz top

Rt. hand
14-15 mph
PAP 4 9/16 1/4 over

Drilling: 50x4"x45
Volume 38-41ft
THS, Kegel Challenge Series

The 900 Global Special Ops, a hybrid compliment to the Black Ops fits a nice niche for me on fresh backends.  Ball revs up in the midlane quite a bit for me and has a hard controllable break point.  Overall a touch less ball the Black Ops, little more skid and a more predictable backend.  Drilled a layout of 50x4"x45.  Right out of box saw a real nice easy to read breakpoint on our house shot.  As they lanes opened up I was able to bump in and still see good carry.  Took some Vice compound polish to the cover and was able to play track area longer but still able to get a predictable motion off the spot.  900 Global was able to create a ball in the Special Ops that fits well with the original Black Ops!
