Well let me tell you. I received a few of these balls 3 weeks ago and did not know what they were.My distributor just told me that he had a few ANGLE EVOLUTION's available at a good price and since I really liked my original Evolution I figured I could sell them. When I unpacked the shipment I found there to be a few of these balls I had never heard of called the EXTRA. Well I can tell you that this ball is AWESOME! Plain and simple. I have a lot of hand and a 5 1/2> 1/8^ axis point. I drilled this ball with the pin 4 3/4" from the PAP under the finger holes with the MAss Bias on the VAL. I was looking for a ball I can play deep inside with that would still recover in the rearend. I found it. This ball eases through the fronts with an unbelievable move at the break point. I used it on our house condition that is pretty wet and it worked great. It cleared the midlane well but really flipped hard at the oil line. I didn't lose any carry though. A few 9's which is expected from that angle of entry. This ball HITS harder than anything I have ever thrown. I mean it and it kept the pins low to boot. The real test came when I used it at another house on their second shift shot. The track is completely fried when we get out there but there is a puddle in the middle that alot of balls just keep fading and you see alot of weak 10's and 7's. I pulled out the EXTRA and BAM!! I had smooth fronts and the ball didn't realy flip on the carrydown but produced a move that just buzzed pins all over the place. We are talking the 5th arrow fade on carrydown here. I had a Black Choas drilled for this condition and it just burned up too quick and hit like fudge so I am really excited about this ball. AMF really has a winner with the new VEER coverstock. The only problem with AMF balls as usual, they aren't very appealing to the eye. This ball is just Black with Red engraving. I would recomend this ball to anybody because it is very versatile to all styles. Beans

Well the day after I posted this review, I shot 300 with the ball on the house condition at my center. I was able to swing 13-15 to about 7-9 at 38-40 ft. and just kill the pocket. Carry was good. Besides the messenger headpin I threw in the 1st frame all 11 other shots were just flush. AMF has the nut here. Do not hesitate to get this ball. Well the guys at AMF have done it again.  They have came out with one of the best if not THE best cover to weight block matches on the market.  This ball is a very exciting product for the pro shop operators.  This is a ball that can be used by around 80% of the bowling population, and you can't say that about many balls, if you truly understand bowling ball motion and versatility.  In the past few weeks I have drilled these balls for many different styles of bowlers, from guys with very strong hand releases to senior bowlers that want hook on the end but don't throw most solids hard enough to get it down the lane.  



The factory finish on this ball is remarkable (1500).  The reason I make this statement is that many times with different coverstocks when you smooth the surface this much the ball will ping on you, meaning hit very weak, lots of flat tens, and swishing sevens.  From the cover to weight block to surface of this ball it's a winner.  Although we have experimented with different dull and shiny surfaces on this ball it is still a fantastic versatile product.  I also think that the out of box surface is one of the best surfaces for many bowlers to try at first.



As far as drilling this product I haven't seen a layout that I didn't like in this ball.  Let me explain.  Sometimes when you drill different companies balls certain ways they really don't act very good.  For instance, and this is MY opinion only, I don't need any email hate mail (joking). I think if you drill a majority of, not all,  Brunswick products with pins close to the bowlers axis the balls perform very badly, especially on your typical house condition.  There are drastic exceptions of course, but from my perspective these are my conclusions.  But this Angle Evolution Extra I have drilled many many ways already.  From pin 2 inches from axis with MB in track to 6 inches from axis with MB on VAL, and these balls just react great.  They are very predictable and very readable.  Please don't take predictable and readable to mean weak because this just isn't the case.  In a time where some bowling balls are so strong that they actually get unreadable this ball is a great change.  I will also say this in closing, if any of you love the way your ROCK ON reacts, but want just a little more kick on the backend with a dull surface ball, this is the ball for you.  Great job AMF, and thanks for the products your putting out.

unbelievable sums up this ball in one word. ball works very well on synthetic w/ basic leauge shot. rolls up in the oil and doesn't jump off the dry. kept the ball in box finish and still hits crisp enough to carry out the 10. drilled the ball w a 4in pin and power ring between the strong and the val position

The Extra was my first venture into the AMF lineup.  My boss at The Strike Connection drilled one a few months ago and is loving it, and thought I'd like it too.  Well, he was right again.  

My Extra (pin out 2", 3.25 oz top) has the pin set just under the ring finger and cg kicked out about an inch and a half.  Small x-hole just below grip line 6" to the right.  Static weights:  11/16 ounce side and O finger.  Polished right out of the box to add length.

What a ball!  Not a skid-flip reaction by any means, but a really strong arc-roll move that refuses to leave a corner pin.  Easy to adjust with as the track dries up, but not the wisest choice on dry conditions.  More importantly, after two series', my average with it is 222.  That speaks for itself.

A great piece of equipment to have in the bag.  A definite 9+ for Columbia/AMF.  Watch for my review on the Firehawk later this month.

This is the first ball i have thrown that i can say just plain sucks.  Same speed, same release point, same rotation, yet the hook and the break point were all over the map.  No joke, one shot hit the six pin and the next went brooklyn.  It it drilled with cg in the center of the grip and pin out from ring finger about an inch.  Just to check, i pulled out the ultra hot, 258.  The Angle has found its way in to my friends hand for free, i would feel bad asking him for money.
