Had it for a month and used it everywhere.

Drilling specs:
Label leverage, pin stacked 4.5x4.5 from PAP
3" pin, 2 3/4 top weight
Polished with Black Magic to give that 'New ball finish' hmmmmm

Conditions in laymen terms.
1. Head Oil, semi stripped backends a little OB, out of bounds outside 5 tourney conditions.
Ball goes long and hooks very hard, this ball hits really hard and slaps everything all over the place
When I hit the OB, it seemed like it wanted to come back but just didn't, but because the ball has such a great coverstock it trys and trys and almost makes it back.  Great carrying ball

2. Heads semi used, backends a little oil logged.
Ball goes past the heads pretty good, of course like any ball though if you hit it a little too much on this conditions it will still bump up high.  On the backend, the hook/snap becomes a long arc but still great hitting power, left a few corners but much better than expected.

3. Synthetic conditions freshly manicured.  
Ball goes looong and snaps so hard, almost over under but not the textbook type over under which causes you to pull your hair out.

Overall look
This is a ball that hits and snaps and hooks and does your laundry if you ask it to, or at least you can pay someone to do it with the money you will win with this one.  This is definitely not your dad's AMF.  They have gone so far in so little time, it is quite impressive.

Drilled mine with the pin 3 3/8 from Axis, CG 2 inches directly below Pin, drilled extra hole 6 3/4 inches from center of span through CG. Basically a Rev Leverage drilling. I also polished it with Ebonite Extender polish.  Well first of all I tested this ball out of the box, and it was way too strong, basically I needed much more head oil, so i had to polish it...Once I did that this ball gave me the look i wanted. This ball gave me more area once the heads had broken down and carried the oil down. Recently i have used this ball on two different types of synethic lanes. One is a basic blocked up on 10 house shot, on this the ball was too strong in the backend and i was forced to play too deep of a line to carry. The second was on a fairly even across the gutter shot, with a lot less backend. I was using my red pearl messenger before I drilled this ball, but now with this firehawk, I can open up the lane a few more boards of area. I just shot 300,814 with it this past week. So tend to think it helped improve my carry somewhat (oh this is also a VERY tough carrying house, so that is why I can say this ball has helped considerably). I will be drilling another of these balls with a 5x5 drilling sometime this week, and i report back on how that ball reacted.

*drilled 5 x 5, cg in center of palm, and a small balance hole on axis (only had 1 oz top)

I have had this ball for 2 months now.  It is a much stronger ball than I had originally thought it would be when I bought it.  I was pleasantly surprised with the strength the Firehawk has being a mid-priced ball.  I have used the Firehawk on a variety of conditions, but it found it's home in my aresenal for when there are fresh backends.  It seems to carry the light pocket hits very well for me becasue it just slaps the pins all over the place.  When playing a deep inside line trying to hold pocket, I had some problem with the 10 pin, but if I am able to send the ball out, I normally carry very well.

Some conditions i have used the Firehawk on:
*Wood lanes w/gaurdian 25'.  An out-of-bounds outside of 7.  I played a line of 17 at the arrows out to 9 at the break-point, but if I missed to the out of bounds, you could tell this ball wanted to come back.  The coverstock on this ball just wants to keep coming.

*Sythetic lanes, fresh shot Oiled 35' buffed to 42'.  This condition was where this ball reacted the best for me.  I played 14 at the arrows out to 5 and the Firehawk would just some roaring back.  I tried taking off some speed and moving deeper to 5th arrow and the Firehawk still made the turn back to the pocket.

*Wood lanes, long flat oil.  This was the one lane condition that I really struggled with this ball on.  I am just learning to play a down and in shot and I did me best to play straight down 2nd arrow.  When I did manage to hit what I was throwing at, I had some serious problems with  carry, but I figured I would since the ball was still revving up, not yet into a roll.

*Synthetic heads, wood backends with carrydown.  This condition really changed the looked of this ball from a skip/snap type reaction into a long arc.  It still had quite a bit of energy left at the pocket and still threw the pins around.  Seemed liek every shot I threw there was a messenger flying.

Overall, I am quite impressed with this ball and it is a great option off of my Menace Tour Edition.  I use the Menace tour to read the lanes and if I need something a little stronger, I can pull out the Firehawk.  I've been a long time reader of this site and do not like the 1-10 rating system, so I will stay away from that.

A great light particle ball for medium-oily lane conditions.
It's the first ball out of the bag for league after lanes have just been oiled.
Ball info: 15lbs.,4oz., Pin: 2-3", Top Weight: 3oz.
           Pin is 1" right of ring finger, CG is 2 1/2" directly below it.
           Ball is polished with Ebonite Extender Polish for more length and
           hitting power in the backend.  Also, can stay in play longer.
House Lane Conditions:  Brunswick-synthetic heads with the rest in wood.  Oiled out to 40-42ft.
Me:  Tweener, medium ball speed, medium hook.
Had my highest game in league (245) with this ball and also helped me to win in No Tap Tournaments.
Performs well on full wood and full synthetic lanes.  Rolls strong and hits hard!  More of a continuous "arcing" motion to the pocket.
Goes in the bag when "splits" start coming.  Good balance of power and control.
Great ball and a great value.  Cool looking ball too w/ nice logo and pearlized maroon color!  Go AMF!!!
