The AMF Green Mamba is the second best ball I've ever used. Never really liked AMF before 900 Global took over. To me, AMF has built the best ball ever! Love the Rider core (the Bank) and tremendous hook. Perfect for medium to heavy oil. Shot a 235 with it today!

This is a GREAT bowling ball.  Plenty aggressive on tighter patterns and changes direction very strongly.  Can also be used effectively on hooking patterns with some polish.  This ball is a MUST BUY!

What grit was the surface of the ball? T pad
Likes: Tons of hook, great backend
Dislikes: None yet, needs oil!

The asymmetrical Green Mamba is a beast.  Drilled this one 65 x 5 45.  OOB (T pad) this ball needs oil up front it chugs, hooks and flips!  Forced me in 5 more than Black Mamba right awaY.  No loss of power on backend, doesn't want to quit!  I'd say it's the most aggressive ball overall from 900 Global.  Put a hard gloss on it and I was able to wack our THS 755 1st night.  Very workable cover. Polish gave me tons of swing room, didn't fade in the heavy middles.  Great ball to send right and watch it fly back!  Needs oil, soon as transition hit end of 2ND game I couldn't get deep enough at my speed.  If you're looking for pure overall hook this is the one you need.  Great oil ball from AMF!

The Green Mamba is an eye appealing ball with a monster personality. I drilled the Green Mamba 4 X 3 exactly like my Black mamba and even with its 4000-grit finish is much stronger than the Black Mamba. This ball hooks a little bit later and is more angular at the break point. I sanded the ball to 1500-grit exactly like the Black Mamba and the ball hooked 3 to 4 boards more with similar length and break point shape. I found the ball to be exceptional on sport patterns and heavy volume house shots.

Likes:First thing I like about this ball is its shape, the ball is strong through the front and makes a great move at your breakpoint. When the Black Mamba is too rolly and smooth and isn't knocking the corners out, I can pull this one out of the bag and there is a more pronounced move at the break point with this Green Mamba. The Green Mamba is also a good ball to go to when the Freight Train is too much ball, so when you start losing your shape at the breakpoint, get out the green mamba. It takes care of business. I drilled this one up with a six inch pin, where pin is right above my index finger, this layout allows me to alter cover stock also to give me the shape I want to see if I need to alter cover. What a great ball!! Thanks again, AMF!!

My Green Mamba is drilled with a 4 1/4" pin, appoximately 60 degrees and the pin is below the fingers.  I found the ball to best be suited to medium conditions.  If you have thrown The Look which I think is very angular, this ball offers a slightly smoother response.  The last time I threw this ball was fresh house shot which I would describe as wet/dry and I had a great ball reaction with this ball.  Love the color!  I have talked with several bowlers who have purchased this ball and nothing but good comments.

The Green Mamba

My experience on both house shots and sport shots is very similiar with The Green Mamba. It has length, strong midlane and makes a strong move to the pocket that opens a lot of eyes. With an RG as low as this ball most wouldn't think it could roll so strong and retain, but it does. All types of sport shots are no match for this ball....low volumes could pose a problem but thats the case with many balls out there today. The Green Mamba can play through some lighter oil as long as there is volume down lane to give you a little hold. Angles throughout the lane are playable with this ball.
The type of bowler using this ball has not been an issue. I have seen crankers have every bit as much success using the Green Mamba as the strokers have.

Let me add, if you have not thrown an AMF ball in awhile, this ball or the Mamba Hybrid are AWESOME!!! Get one!

I picked up a NIB Green Mamba at the beginning of this season.  The ball had a shorter pin, so decided to go with a 45 X 5 X 70 layout, which put the pin below/between my fingers and the MB out towards my VAL.  This layout required a small weight hole, near the P3 position to make the ball legal.  I left the surface in the box finish.

I bowl league weekly on a relatively easy medium-heavy volume house shot.  I actually expected the ball to cover a few more boards with the F74 coverstock, but I get just enough movement on the fresh to score.  I'm able to play 10 at the arrows out to 5 and the breakpoint.   

In one word, this ball is Smooth.  I very nice, controllable reaction.  Doesn't cover a ton of boards for me, but enough to get decent carry.  The ball really seems roll through the pins well.  Even when the lanes start to dry up and I move inside, the ball still has enough to carry reasonably well.  This reaction isn't the fancy "go long and hook hard" hockey stick type, but it just gets the job done.  I have thrown more big games and high sets with this ball than I can ever remember in the past.

I'm starting to buy into the SRC marketing hype.  On just about any reasonably thrown shot, the ball gets into a nice consistent roll.  For an assymetrical core, it seems quite forgiving with minor release variations (also the fact that I'm bowling on a relatively easy house shot helps too!). 

As previously mentioned, the ball does seem to pick up/show the dirt.  I keep a bottle of "Resurrection" in my bag and it seems to get most of the marks off at the end of the night.  Probably approaching 50 games on the ball now..  I've freshened up the surface with a 4k abralon pad a few times, but the ball has shown no signs of losing reaction.  Overall, I'm really happy with this one.
