well, this is sorta my first review, but now that im getting back into bowling after a pretty serious knee injury, i'll start here. well i bought this ball because i simply like amf stuff, particulary the nighthawk line. i throw 15 lb, 2oz top, 3 inch pin. i got it drilled with the pin 1 in above my ring finger, the CG kicked out about 1-11/2 to the right. there's something about this layout that i love. i get length and a smooth hard arc. i generally play down and in (stroker) but can play inside if i have to, of course i need some dry backends to make that line work for me. but let me say that this ball hits hard. in the house im bowling at, there is usually lots of carrydown with a typical house shot (they don't strip the lanes in the morning). i found this ball worked great for when you have carrydown, and it doesn't get away from you. and you don't have to work hard at making adjustments with this ball. the pins stay low, and the carry is great. rolled a 214 with this ball. (I only bowled 2 games, the other game i threw a amf nighthawk menace). im starting to learn what my stuff does again, and im finding that for the bowling alleys im practicing at, this ball works wonders. i had trouble with this ball, while bowling in texas, but i had too much equipment, so this ball didnt see much action. but it'll start seeing more playtime now. For me, this ball works best polished right now. (i used storm xtra step 2, about 1500 grit). i have used this ball dull and it works just as well, and very good for heavy oil. you havent seen a lot of over/under with this ball, and if you can find one, GET IT!! it may be old, but it still does the job. i'll take this ball over some of the newer stuff.
as i start my bowling comeback, i'll update my review. thanks..
