I picked up my Scamp about two months ago. I wanted something to be able to give me some control and predictablity when running into shorter patterns as well as some mediums and I have problems with. Also I wanted to try out the new AMF line that I have been reading a lot of great things about.

I drilled up my Scamp 5 1/4" 90 degree, this put the cg in the middle of my grip with the pin about an 1 inch above it. I kept the coverstock out of box. I first threw it out on a broken down New Years Eve house shot. The lanes had around 50/60 games thrown on it and not a speck of oil out there. The Scamp preformed well above my expectations. It cleared the heads like a beauty, never once wanting to check up soon at all. When it got to the midlanes, it really didn't do much only until the back part of the midlanes. That's when it start to pick up a roll and drive through the breakpoint. Once it got to the pocket, it sure didn't sound like a low end ball. There was the definate crack and drive right though the pin deck. I was very pleased with the hit from this ball.

Overall, I feel that this is a great ball for the price. It also allows me to pick up spares with it, allowing me to shoot directly at them and always knowing that it is right on target. Great ball for people just starting out or the vital peice of equipment for tournament bowlers. As always if you need any help just email me at jwillie@paonline.com

Picked this ball up used with 15 games for $25 shipped to my door. Let me say that thus far it has been the best $25 I have ever spent.

When the ball arrived it was already drilled the way I wanted with the pin below ring, cg in palm. I only needed to slug the thumb to lengthen the span. I left the ball in OOB condition and went to the lanes.

First shot was on the leftover from Friday night shot on Saturday morning. The shot is sloppy, spotty heads with a bit of carrydown. The ball performed well as I stood on 23 and shot it over 13 to 8. The ball had a nice smooth arc to it and smashed the pocket. Very consistent reaction on this shot. The particle helps it get into a roll and cut through the carrydown. This ball really performed on this shot.

Second shot was on a fresh shot on my Thursday night league. THS from 5 to 5 med. flat pattern all the way across, buffed out to 45'. This was tricky because the ball skated for the first 40-45' then when it hit the dry, it was like someone kicked it left. I was playing pretty deep. Hitting 20 at the arrows out to 12 and then the ball was arcing very hard to the pocket. Due to the angle, I left lots of corners. I tried to move but the ball would just not carry them leaving me to realize that the ball was not made for this condition.

All in all, this is a great ball for the price and if I use it on the right condition, the ball is controllable and smooth. It hits very well for a ball that doesnt have a "high performance" pricetag. Very nice ball for the money!!
