Angle Evolution Reactive

The Angle Evolution Reactive is designed to have a much later break point
than the original Angle because of three major changes to the design: 1.
Super-Flex cover stock does not have a particle in it allowing the ball to
clear the front easier; 2. The finish is highly polished to 3000, which is a
much higher gloss than AMF has ever used; 3. The 4-density Double Power Ring
core has been modified to match the cover stock to achieve stronger
continuous motion down the lane. The Angle Reactive should be used to
complement the original when that ball hooks too early and for those players
with slower ball speeds that need the extra length and backend.

The specifications are: Core: Double Power Ring Multi Density; Cover stock:
Super-Flex Reactive; RG: 2.50; Flare Potential: 6.5" (differential .048);
Hook: 8.5 BTM; Length: 6.0 BTM; Finish: 3000 Highly Polished; Weights: 12,
14-16 lbs.; Color: Red and Black with Gold logo fill.

In my opinion this is the best out of all the new angles.  This one got through the heads  really well and then at the breakpoint made a real strong move this will be the Evolution that sees the most play on league conditions.

I read Leftytester's conclusions on this ball and i couldn't agree more.  This ball is the probable choice for late shift bowlers.  But don't be afraid of the "FLIP" on this ball.  It can be controlled, AMF drill sheets show a drilling with the mass bias in the track, don't be scared of this drilling thinking "oh this won't hit" cuz it will.  If you have more than average revs, with medium to high speed but need help through the heads and midlane this is a great addition to your bag.  I think this ball could be a little weak for the weaker hands, but I would drill one of these before the Angle Evolution particle, just for the simple fact of the explosion this ball "CAN" show on the backend.  One side note, this ball DOES NOT, have the same block as the original Angle Evolution, it has been slightly tweeked.

This ball was drilled with a strong leverage pin placement. Pin placement was right by the ring finger, and the Power Ring Indicator was put in a strong placement. The Cg was slightly off the center of my grip, and there was no extra holes drilled. I've left the ball with the factory finish, and this ball gets better with every game I throw it. I've only thrown this ball on a fresh house shot with a small top hat condition. This ball goes real long before it makes its move, and it has good over and under reaction. It carries like no other ball I've ever seen. This drilling doesn't seem to leave alot of corner pins. The reation I get reminds me of the Blue Pearl Hammer. I rate this ball 9.5 out of 10. This a great ball from AMF.

This is ball is real clean up front with a very good backend reaction. I have mine drilled with the pin up and over the fingers. This is a good ball when the lanes are breaking down and you need to move on and play deep. This ball carries very well and on a scale of 1-10 I would give it a 10! I play down in with foward roll tweener player.

Specs: lefty-15.5-16.5mph, medium revs, up the backer,208-215 two houses

Ball: 15lb,drilled:arc (pin next to ring,cg in mid gripline,mb on other side of thumb)

Lane conditions: Wood oil 7 to 7, 38ft christmas tree, stripped back ends
Usually throw a Super Power up 12 or swing Spike HPT 13 to 5.

Review: Lanes slightly dryer than normal, with proactives rolling up too early or laying off on back end with mediocre carry. I was very impressed with the ease of keeping this ball on-line. It clears heads extremely easy with a big backend. With the stripped backends this ball reacted more like a flip drill than an arc. It carried very well and only left a few taps which were more related to the poor release. I would say play on the light side of the pocket as this ball is so strong that some 8 pins were left on a pocket hit. After a dismal 1st game with the Super Power 170, this ball filled the spot for 226,234. I have not thrown this ball enough for a full review but impressed so far.

Rating:9 of 10, not an everyday ball for these oil soaked lanes, but great fill in for when active coverstocks are not doing the job.

The ball was drilled up as follows:    Right Handed

Pin 1/2" right and 1/2" down from ring finger ( apx 1" right of center )

Heavy spot 1 1/2" right of center     No extra hole

Ball had 2 3/4 oz top weight

I am the old style up 2nd arrow into the pocket. I have bowled with it 6 games before oiling, 6 games after oiling 10 to 10 standard pattern.

Before oiling: Ball was best played around 3rd arrow, great drive few corner pins. Any attempt to throw this ball 10 or 12 board was disasterous. I can not throw it hard enough. And if I flattened it out ( removed my Eagle ) it was dificult to controll.

After oiling: When the ball was thrown at 10 it seemed to work if I could flatten out the shot somewhat, but was leaving the corner pins without fail. As soon as I went to the 12th board, it was paradise! I could vary my speed, and the shot still ended up in the pocket strong. I could miss to the right up to 1 board, or to the left up to 3 boards and still be close to the pocket.

Needless to say, this is a great ball if you dont mind staying with the oil.

im a righty tweener (17/18 mph, 16 revs  high rotation, high track))

got this ball in easter?
best on medium condtns where it will rev up in the right place.

on oilier conditions will start to make a move but has no continuation thro pins, although i have found that a speed adustment will work well if there is dry somewhere.

already shot 278 with it

this ball glides through the heads with a sharp turn at the break point and bags of continuation and carry when matched up properly with the condition.

this ball also gives itself to a wide range of playable angles on the lane:
with a bit of speed down 1st arrow, take a bit of and bowl inside 4th.

the extra angle created by this ball might also allow forward rollers to move deeper inside than they normally could
all in all, a very good ball

I have drilled mine with the pin 5 inches away from PAP and the PRI in the strong position. No extra hole was needed...At first i didn't find this ball terribly helpful or different than many other balls, but recently i have had tremendous success with it playing straighter on wet-dry conditions (in the oil). This ball is considerably stronger than the Ti-Hawk, by that I mean that the flare potential is higher so it spends energy soon and also hooks sooner. Basically I feel that Angle Reactive needs more oil to be in play. It doesn't seem to me that it should be used as a skid flip ball. Try to keep this ball in the oil and just let it make a small move in the back and believe me it will carry and hit very hard.

I had this ball drilled up about a month ago, im not sure of all the specs, i told my pro shop to drill one up for me,and it was ready by the time i got there i have thrown this ball probably about 7 times in the last month....highly recomend this ball for any medium condition, i have 4 700's in the last month wth it and i rolled my first 300 with it also....i am a 220 avg bowler and as of right now thi is the ball i use first out of the bag....i am also a big fan of the extra.....on a scale iwould rate this a 9.5 out of 10...in oil it gets really squirty.....but it carries great and keeps pins very low

This is a Followup review of this ball now that I have had several months of use for it.

I have found even though throwing many good games with this ball, it is Very Lane Spacific. It also is not a good ball for lower speeds. We here get a shot change about every 3 weeks. If you are in a heavy oil pattern and slow the ball down it has No Carry. If you are subjected to carry down, you will get very poor drive even if you put alot of lift into your shot. Lastly, you will notice that this ball has alot of over under.

This ball is a
For early clean lanes ( 8 )

For carry down ( 5 )

For dry conditions ( 9 )

For oil conditons or long oil ( 3 )

Closing comment :      First ball to go to, but dont try to make it last to long into the night, if it doesnt work now, it wont get better

I won this ball at a tournament and after i got a track worked into it, it flew on all conditions.  This is a great ball for most conditions but freah heavy oil.  I would recomend it to just about anyone.

Got this ball more of my awesome $20 per ball arsenal from a former AMF staffer.

Is he crazy to give these things up!!!!

As he was giving it to me, (virtually).  He said never really liked this it hooks twice!

Hmmmm!  Looked at the thing very dull in the track.  As I remembered a real strong core similar to Nighthawk black (but not exactly) but very similar to the original EVO, EXtra all big hitting.

Put a little different drilling(spans pitches that sort of thing) in it hit it with 1000 grit polished and took it out.  Total garbage.  One hook in  the front dead at the back.  While doing this an old small handed guy next to me had one, (but his had closer to box finish) long good flip big hit.  Oh yeah even with my early hook no backend reaction this thing hit like all EVOs BIG!

Well I wasn't ready to give up.

I remembered this ball came out of box 3000.  I said I'm going to get that surface right before this goes to the bottom of the lake.
320, for a few minutes, 600 grit, 1000, 2 minutes of Black Magic.
Standard pitches and inserts for me.  Let' whirl it.

OH Baby.

Drilling, 3 inch pin out.  pin next to ring finger CG back towards center,
like 4 X 4 1/2, mass bias on left side of thumb for lefty here.

Now we've got some reaction.  First few straight then like all pearls for me this starts to slightly track and start to find thd dry on this heavy carrydown condition.

PErfect at one time probably 17 out of 20.  Heavy carrydown after tons of league and open play.  Hey just like my league.

Next to my Eraser this ball was a little more even.  Nothing outstanding about ball flight medium early, medium backend(less than eraser).  However Humungous hit and carry like all the Evos!

This week I went back in league to the ring a 7 program with my eraser.
This ball being more even with similar length squares up stronger and earlier.

Closest reaction I've had to my CG kicked out Sledgehammer ever except a touch more angle at the backend for this AMF due to drilling.  (I'm sure Sledgehammer would have more if drilled the same).

This ball because of the strong moter just has a lot of break point control and evenness for a pearl.

The only thing that will excite one about it is the early revving and the hit!
And probably your score sheet.

REgards,

Luckylefty
PS Just a notch of less rev than a Red Fuze, and a little less backend makes this ball much more of a matchup for my game than that monster I could never really get a handle on.  Going to move ahead of the Eraser in my bag for lighter head where one needs backend at least for now!  That's a lot of ball.  Because I think the eraser is great.
PPS I've seen a little of the Cold Fusion Matched up against this and the Cold is more pure backend, I may pick up another $20 dollar beauty.  AMF Yahoo!

THIS IS AN OLDER BALL BUT i always go back when in trouble. It started out semi shiny but did not hook enough for how fast i throw. So I sanded it and it hooks a ton I only use it on oily lanes it now hooks out of my hand. Had trouble at first but when locked it it crushes the pins. 3 inch pin 3oz. top weight and in line mass. 7 out of 10
