Hei$t Video!

The Hei$t is THE benchmark ball -- just a super-smooth, ultra-controllable ball motion, that tells you where the oil is, etc. OOB, the surface gave me a touch too much length, so I lightly scuffed it with a Scotchbrite pad, in effect giving me a surface that is "OOB, broken in."

This ball should be awesome on more difficult shots, where you need "softer cornering." The oil pattern in the video is a true mystery to me -- the house says it's a sport shot, but it basically plays like a house shot with a strip of out of bounds around board 6-7. It's not super easy like some, but it's not hard...oh well, the vid should still give everyone a good idea of what the ball does, etc.

Hope you like. And a special thanks to ET!

Why use Quicktime .mov for the file type?

Wow!! While it's not angular, it is very strong on the back. It is exactly as you described. Smooth, yet strong. When that ball moves, it is seeking out some pins to destroy.  Yikes!!!!

I use Quicktime because it's the easiest file type to work with when using my Mac. And before anyone gets started on why I have a Mac...because I got it for free!

EDIT: I can't, for whatever reason, get the ENTIRE movie into Windows Media. It only gives me 30 seconds. So...I guess .mov will have to work for now. Sorry!

Because it's just as good as every other movie codec?  Because the tools on OS X are pretty good?

About the nine-pins -- In my opinion, a shot showing a solid nine can do two things:

1) Show the amount of entry angle created by the ball
2) Show the amount of contuation through the pocket

To say that "leaving solid 9s" detracts from the ball is almost silly, to some extent. How many 9s can you really leave, that you don't make up later in "off" hits, carried by the increased angle into the pocket, etc? A ball that hits this hard might leave a stone nine-pin on a "perfect" (not very common, by the way, for anybody)...but it also might trip a four-pin, knock the six into a "shoulda been soft" ten, mix the bucket, etc.

Just my thoughts...then again, I love the feeling of leaving a nine...there's something painful about it, yes, but also something quite wonderful (like, holy s@$#, that hit hard!).

Only true "rap" in the game.
